Long before Sector 26 became a hub of fine-dining restaurants, it was Sector 7, the neighbouring sector that saw families queued up for meals every weekend. And all credit goes to Sip ‘N’ Dine, the standalone restaurant here. In fact, I am pretty sure most Chandigarhians would have a memory attached to eating out here. The interiors are quite old-school - wooden panels, long tables, dining chairs, sofas too – but the layout helps to accommodate everyone – from couples to kitty groups and more. In fact, the place is very popular with corporate get-togethers as well as families for the lunch and dinner buffets. The a la carte menu at Sip ‘N’ Dine walks a familiar path bringing in popular cuisines – Mughlai, Punjabi and Chinese. But they do sure pack in a lot in the menu vis-à-vis the number of dishes on offer. For instance, if you are in a mood to eat ‘Soya Malai Chaap’, ‘Egg Bhurji’, ‘Paneer Pakora’, ‘Mutton Yakhni’ and ‘Pasta Arrabiata’ all in one go, you can easily do that here. As far as flavours, well, they stay on track – more hits than misses. If you are looking to dine at Sip ‘N’ Dine, we recommend you start with the buffet first. In fact, the staff is quick to recommend that as well when you come here. It is value for money and ideal when there are multiple palates to please; although desserts could do with some variety in the buffet. The service is courteous. Finding a table on weekdays is easy but weekends can get busy.
