On a recent Monday night, at about 8 in the evening, I walked off the popular Khader Nawaz Khan Road looking for 1947. By 8.30 I was sitting in the middle of a cavernous restaurant, I did not know existed, heaving with diners. Pastel walls backdrop decor-abilia from the era of princely states and British Raj, as plush sofas share the floor with colourful khatiya. Space works, and as I found out, works very well to fill up with large family dinners.
Nice place, centrally located, decorated with snippets of history - good food, value for money - good buffet spread, courteous staff
Being a great fan of North Indian food, I visited 1947 with lots of expectations. We were a group of 8 , who visited on a very crowded afternoon and chose the buffet option. Being a rather busy day, the waiters, were obliging though, when called. Food was disappearing rather quickly and we had to patiently wait for the refills. Their soup and starters were okayish. Their subzi and dals weren't anything extra ordinary either. In all , a rather disappointing experience. The ambiance wasnt anywhere near attractive. Given the name, 1947, the expectations were set , but did not meet any of the expectations built.
The give full collection of different taste of South India flavour I like much interested interior design of the restaurant
The total experience was bad ... I was served welcome drink as promised by EazyDiner. .. service was horrible .. the waiters are untrained ..
1947 restaurant is located in Khader Nawaz Khan Road and offers pure veg food. The place has a nice decor with items reminding of the times in 1947. The place did not have many visitors when we stepped in for lunch on a weekday. We opted for the buffet which has a standard menu for each day. The soups were fine and the starters were just OK - paneer starter was the only tasty one. The main course had limited options with the dal, veg dishes and noodles being the better items. The desserts especially gulab jamun and Indian items were very good. At 500 per head the buffet is just about OK for the location.
