One of the classic party destinations in Chennai, Bay 146 offers a large space with something for everyone. Sway to live music indoors or catch some fresh air in the outdoor seating, which overlooks the pool. The service is efficient and lightning quick with the orders. Thankfully, they do a good job of recommending you a drink from the unending list of cocktails. I loved the martinis made from the in-house infused spirits; the chilli martini has a velvety mouthfeel punctuated by a mild sear. Also recommended is the whiskey-based elderflower island. Bay 146 heats up on Friday and Saturday nights, with the large area in front of the bar turning into a nightclub.

Relaxing lunch!

Spent a delightful "amazing-weather" a/noon with very good friends. Overlooking the swimming pool & having the place nearly to ourselves. Food was good & service was quick. Ambience too was excellent!

Below expectations

Well done interiors Lights kept tripping many times Food was average as such Mojito had excessive quantity of crushed ice. Not good. Pasta was tasteless Good service

IPL fever

Went to enjoy match we got table near big screen service was great especially bavesh was helpfull enjoy the starters to core drinks was very tasty selection of cocktails and cocktails was good most recommended in this ipl season

New cocktail menu launch

Bay 146 Handcrafted Cocktail List Chennai's favorite restobar launches a list of handcrafted cocktails. The restobar's manager and the mixologist travelled across the world to research on legendary cocktails from different countries. The study of cocktails. And when they were satisfied that the hunt was finally over, they brought with them the best of best and put together a  brand new list of cocktails just for US! These cocktails are made with premium ingredients and the highest quality of spirits. The following are six different categories of cocktails which we tasted. 1. Premium   The name itself suggests that these drinks are of a higher quality and are made with premium ingredients (Grey Goose vodka and exotic and fruits) available in the market. The very first sip would make you realise that these are worth ordering! * Grape Fruit Como - The drink is made with Grey Goose vodka, grape fruit juice (YAAASS), cointreau, campari and lime juice. This peach colored drink looks absoutely lipsmaking and tastes even better. The drink is served with a piece of grapefruit. This would take to to the tropical islands of the world with the citrus taste :) * Elegance - The second drink which we tasted was absolutely 'Elegant'. Again a fruit based drink infused with fruit tea bags consisting of raspberry and pomegranate. The tea bags are added to Grey Goose vodka mixed with peach liquer, cucumber, lychee syrup, lime juice and sugar syrup. The drink is pink in color from the rasberry and cucumeber fruit tea. However, the taste of lychee and cucumber are more dominant and makes the drink more refreshing. * Mystery Taste - So who said spices are only meant to be cooked? Mystery taste has your very own spices that you cook with in your alcohol (WHHAAT???). Grey Goose vodka, lychee syrup and myestery powder (spice mix) are mixed together to create this unique drink! The rim of your glass is dipped with powdered sugar mixed with ground spices! 2. Tea for two Alcohol in a tea pot? Ugh Why not? An adorable looking tea pot and two tea cups are brought to your table with a bowl of freshly cut fruits (oranges, apples, watermelon and strawberries). The tea pot with your drink and cups are have lemon and orange wedges. These not only look aesthetically appealing but tickle your taste buds with that familiar taste. So what's inside your tea pot? (NOT tea duh!). Hibiscus infused Grey Goose vodka is mixed with white wine, apple juice, honey and fresh herbs. This would be the most delicious drink that's ever been invented. MUST ORDER! 3. Pot and Jar It’s time that you had your drink in something different. How about a pot and a jar? (As if the tea party wasn't cute enough??) You get a combination of two drinks in a pot and a jar, or you can choose just one. * Pot - The drink in the mud pot is made up of dark rum, passion fruit mix, pineapple juice and lime juice. This tropical drink tickles your taste buds with the sharpness of the pineapple and the lime. And just when are enjoying this, the passion fruit comes all strong (don't you forget me!).   * Jar- The drink in your glass jar is green in color with a mix of  gin, zucchini juice, basil, lime juice and sugar syrup. We were quite doubtful when we heard zucchini, but the taste of the zucchini juice is somewhat close to a cucumber juice and blends so well with the flavor from the basil. The lime juice does it's magic to the drink as usual.   4. Tiki After reading stories about the tiki drinks (made with rum and mostly associated with pirates), I couldn't wait to taste this! But wait! How did tiki drinks evolve? Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic were the ones who introduced this Polynesian inspired cocktail to the world which were made with rum and fresh local produce. These were the first beach side cocktails which were introduced to the world between 1930s and 1940s. * Captain's Blood - Our tiki drink for the night was Captain's Blood. This is made with Captain Morgan (Jamaican rum) spiced rum (No! Captain Henry Morgan did not make the rum but surely did drink a lot it! We'll save that story for another day). The rum which is infused with spices is mixed with a banana syrup, pineapple juice and lime juice is served in a tiki mug. 5. Dessert We have eaten desserts, now it's time to drink desserts! Let's see how! It's always mandatory to end your meal with a dessert. At Bay146 we ended our tasting session with two brilliant dessert cocktails. * Top Deck (A chocolate overdose) - The drink is made with Baileys, Absolute vodka, chocolate powder, caramel syrup, cream and vanilla syrup! The drink is served with color sprinkles and chocolate stick! *Drool* Can we drink it already? A must drink for all the chocolate lovers. Your cold chocolate with an alcoholic twist * Berry Cheesecake - Here's an opportunity to drink cheesecake. I was surprised at how they mastered the exact taste of a cheesecake in a drink. Blueberry infused vodka is mixed with cream, vanilla and vanilla ice-cream. They did not miss your biscuit crumbs which are sprinkled on top before serving (attention to detail with these guys I tell you!).   DID YOU KNOW? Why was this place called Bay146? The restobar launched with a list of 146 cocktails and hence the name :)

Enjoyable evening - Great Musisc

We decided to visit Bay 146, as they were hosting interesting independent bands who played originals. We chose the day when Matt Bacon and team were playing. We initially wondered whether anyone in a pub will really be interested to listen to music... But we were surprised that when the Matt and his team started playing almost everyone went closer to the stage and sat on the steps for almost the entire performance. We sat at our seat, as we had a nice view of the stage. We had Baby Corn Fry and Cottage Cheese Papad. We ordered the 2nd one as it sounded interesting. It actually turned out to be quite disappointing.. We sipped nice and cold Mojito while enjoying the music. They have a large open section outside of the enclosed area, to accommodate smokers. They were a little boorish at the entrance. That needs to be improved. Otherwise a pleasant evening..
