Drawing from R.K. Narayan’s eponymous literary caricature of a South Indian village, a fortune-teller invites you to the bright and familiar Malgudi. One of the oldest South Indian fine dine destinations in the city, Malgudi’s veteran staff is nimble on their feet and with their service. The Savera Hotel is promoted by the Reddy family which also runs the next-door Andhra-food restaurant Amravathi. Dishes from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are as good as you will get anywhere in Chennai.
An excellent place to enjoy south Indian cuisine. best os to order a Thali and yu really get a very wide variety of food. Very tasty. You need to be really hungry to finish everything served.
I chose to visit this place for dinner I was staying at the Savera Hotel & was blown away by the décor & ambiance of the place. Malgudi is a fine dining restaurant that serves food originating from all 5 States of South India. My pick of the night was Aachi Kozhi Kozhambu with Appams & Papadums. It's a famous Tamilian chicken curry preparation originating from the Chettinad region. The curry was full on flavours & cooked without excessive oil or butter. The appams were perfectly fluffy & light.
Went for a late-night dinner with friends (8 of us) after a show. Dishes were very tasty & service very quick. Definitely to be recommended!
We came as part of a group and had a nice multi course meal. We were told how each dish was made and what local ingredients were used to create it. The food was good and the service was excellent. If it’s nearby I’d check it out.
Great place to have a Southern Indian meal with atmosphere, great service and authentic food. You won’t go wrong coming here. Make sure you try their Masala tea. It’s located inside a hotel.
