The restaurant that first introduced India to authentic Chinese cuisine, the crown jewel of Chennai’s fine dining scene for decades and perhaps, Taj’s most successful restaurant chain (with an outpost in Taj Krishna, Hyderabad and the original in Taj Mahal, Bombay) - Golden Dragon has already cemented its place in Indian dining’s Hall of Fame. Everything on the menu is outstanding. Chef Ho Chun Kee (thankfully, also known as Chef William) has put in some effort in making the cuisine more accessible, with a slew of vegetarian dishes and an unusually large selection of desserts (including sugar-free options for the Diabetes capital of India). My favourites are 'Peking Duck', 'Har Gao', 'Sliced Lamb' and the 'Litchi Ice Cream' with basil seeds.
