A relaxed family restaurant, this Moti Mahal outlet is located in the heart of Chennai. There are comfortable low couches, methodically placed. The nadru ghost pulav here is one of the dishes that is made well most times. The mutton pieces are tender and appropriately spiced and the basmati rice they use is quite fragrant. The kukkad Punjabi makkhanwala is not for the faint hearted and has copious amounts of clarified butter put into it. The staff is well dressed and cordial at this outlet.
This place is great for their authentic north Indian and Punjabi style food. The paneerr lababdar was great treat. Soft paneer with the light spicy gravy was superb. We had it with chilli parathas. The tandoori chicken is always good and yummy. The service can be better. Better to avoid the private rooms, where you will have no attention at all from the waiters or management.
Moti Mahal Delux takes you to a different world of tandoori delicacies that has come from the provinces of North India.. Located only at Anna Nagar Chennai
Went to Moti Mahal Delux in Anna Nagar for dinner with family on a weekday. There was not much crowd. The place has a good decor and the seating is comfortable. We ordered soups and starters and the service was quick. Tandoori chicken and kebabs were very tasty. The main course of naans, chicken and mutton curries were superb in terms of taste and presentation. We rounded off with gajar (carrot halwa) which was just OK. The pricing is on the higher side but worth it in terms of the tasty food. Go to Moti mahal for tasty Delhi Mughlai food especially for chicken items!!
The crowds are down even on a weekend. The place looked a little deserted with only one table occupied. Even then, there was delay in taking order. The dishes were fine and tasty. The tawa chicken - though the portion size was pretty decent, chicken pieces were a bit scarce. We made the mistake of ordering a soup - which is highly priced for the portion size. This was our first visit after GST and obviously the bill amount scared us. Will think twice before the next visit.
Went there for sunday lunch.. ordered Tandoori Murg & Paneer lababdar with lacha Paratahas. Perfect sunday lunch for two with Delhi tastes in Chennai. It is better than Nunngambakkam outlet which is closed now.. enjoy..
