It is very unfortunate when you come across a restaurant that leaves you hankering for more. More seasoning, more depth, more flavor – all three of which were lacking in the food at Amuse House. I can not call anything particularly bad, but nearly everything we tried was underwhelming. We started our meal with 'Chick pea and Mint Falafel' as well as the 'Chargrilled Chicken and Chorizo' and moved on to the 'Classic Roast Chicken' and the 'Lamb Shank' and were pretty much disappointed with what we ate. The 'Amuse House Med Box' - an assorted range of baklavas were the only highlight of the evening.
Amuse has got to be one of those great restaurants at Ansal Plaza that churns out great dishes of ordinary cuisine. I had been to Amuse prior to the start of their liquor service, but the new area with the bar stands out. We went there on January 1st to ring in the new years with some good food and we weren't disappointed. Started off with penne in white sauce for the kiddo, and chicken wings for starters. The pasta was extremely well made, testimony of it was the kiddo wolfing down the last bit of pasta and sauce - a rarity. The chicken wings were also unlike anything we have ever had. They were more of melt-in-your-mouth chicken tenders than the KFC kinds that we usually chew and munch on. The accompanying chutney was delish! For mains, we ordered the bacon version of white pepperoni thin crust pizza, one of their in house specialties. This had to be one of the better thin crust pizzas in north India, my reference being the ones from the German Bakery, Koregaon Park, Pune. Although, they weren't stingy on the bacon , I wouldn't have minded a few more toppings! To finish off my LIT and my wife's daiquiri, we had the spinach salad with eggs and bacon. This, probably, was the only dish that disappointed me. The salad was all spinach and dressing and practically little crumbs of bacon thrown in. Ending notes: service is good as with most of the restaurants at Ansal Plaza. A meal for basically two of us set us back by about INR 4200, which includes 3 alcoholic drinks.
Bar service slow and trying all the tricks in the book to rob you. Denying happy hour when a signs outside and all the rest..... It seems to stem from management downwards a poor culture. Not one to leave your card out your sight. Most definitely not a place I would recommend
Visited this place yesterday with family. Ordered the starters which took about 35 minutes to come. The restaurant was completely empty nance I thought it should have taken less time for the food to be prepared. The starters were bland. The chicken leg was a bit raw from inside. The mushroom risotto was okay. The server was great and that was a bit of a relief. Finally went somewhere else to have main course.
The location is becoming a hub of high end speciality restaurants and late nite bar clubs. We went for lunch on a weekend and had a few white rhino beers and corona. We also opted for the skewered and grilled lamb and veg dish comprising of two fried eggs topped on a bed of tomato and herb mix with Mediterranean bread (pita). Both the dishes were cooked in a middle eastern way/Mediterranean style . The service was very good and thanks to Zomato one dish was complementary.
