This store has been around since 1938 and claims that it was named after the market in which it is located rather than because of any inherent Bengali quality. It certainly does not make any identifiably Bengali sweets, and because of the location, is crowded at all times of the day. You will see lawyers from the Supreme Court enjoying a snack here in the evenings, and old-timers visiting specifically for the excellent fruit juice sold here. The mithai here is of good quality and at festival time, there are milling crowds at the counter.
