About Coast Cafe, Hauz Khas Village, South Delhi
Losing yourself in a book and a cup of coffee is an ideal way to decompress. And if you happen to live in South Delhi or somewhere near it then you are in for a treat. There are several great cafes and bistros, which encourage this tranquil activity and offers the diners an ambience to perfectly suit their needs. There is one café particularly that we have a special fondness for. Going there is like taking a mini vacation to seaside, without leaving the city. If you are in need to recharge your batteries then ‘Coast Café’ is tailor-made for you. This charming little nook in Hauz Khas Village is perched right on top of famous Ogaan boutique and from its perch looks upon a grand view of the reservoir. Location is prime and easy to find.
The sea-themed evidence can be seen throughout the space, including the menu, which features some fantastic coastal dishes. Their menu is an interesting mix of Continental and Kerala cuisine, a combo that is highly unusual. For a marginally priced bill, you can have a feast gorging on delicious succulent coastal fare. On a sunny winter afternoon, sit on their balcony and enjoy a glass of lovely pink wine or a refreshing cooler. Summer fix masala buttermilk will complement your meal nicely. They offer an all-day tea menu, which encompasses a delightful selection of crepes, sandwiches, cakes, churros, eggs and pies. Coming to their conventional menu, you will have plenty to choose from. Have at, Coast Café prawn moilee, avial, orange & arugula salad, original beer batter fried fish taco, spiced up lamb burger, chunky penne arrabiata and red snapper chili curry.
A side of appam or red rice or Malabar parantha will be useful. Polish off a slice of rich cake to wrap up the meal. Between courses, look up and drink in the gorgeous view of the water from their bay windows. Throughout the day, an abundance of sunlight is filtered through the windows, washing the entire room with a hazy glow. Interiors resemble someone’s cozy well-designed drawing room near to the sea. Soft white toned walls set off cushioned matted chairs beautifully. Pale teal and blue shades in upholstery gives a very soothing effect. Décor is minimal and artistic, like a boho day lounge. Overall, a charming tranquil space for a brunch.
