This place is a bit pricey. But to be honest, you are paying for the really good quality ingredients that have been cooked to perfection. Start your meal with 'Phalsa Shikanji', which is truly their signature drink. And then have the 'Kurkuri Corn Chaat' and the 'Tandoori Kathal' to whet your appetite. If you have come with a smaller appetite, opt to eat the crips Amritsari river sole for sure and the 'Burrah Kebabs', which are really decadent. For the mains, while you can eat the 'Butter Chicken' – the 'Hyderabadi Dum Ka Murgh' is something you should not miss as well as the 'Rajasthani Laal Maas'. Team this with 'Mirchi Ki Rotiyan' and 'Palak Ki Roomali' and you are in for a treat. Do not miss the desserts and if you have the space order the dessert sampler and ask specifically for the Gulkand Phirni'
Ate here a few days ago. The food was great. Would suggest skipping the welcome drink however (a mix of mint, sugary water and cumin). Also bear in mind that portions are large. The biryanis (veg and chicken) were superb and the various chicken dishes we tried all had very distinct (and very appetising) flavours.
The restaurant is “tired” and is in need of a proper refurbishment. But having said that, the food is excellent and the staff is very friendly. We come here several times per year and this time we invited the office staff to join us. We also checked what they thought about the food - being Indian - and they assured us that is was really good. Which we thought ourselves as well.
It was a great dining experience. The whole ambience was good and the staff was very courteous. We particularly liked methi matar and dal makhani.
This place doesn't yet have the fame of the namesake at Pandara Road, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The menu is a little offbeat and so is the presentation. The food quality was very good 4-5 times we have been there. The service is efficient and friendly. The kitchen has a glass wall facing the customers. Go for sampling high quality north Indian fare and come away contended without burning a hole in your pocket. But don't count calories.
Love this place! A fine dining restaurant with a beautiful ambience and sutle music (to be honest the best thing). The food was equally great. We ordered Butter chicken - 4.5/5 Dal Makhani - 4/5 Dum Biryani - 5/5 A good place for dining while chit chatting with others relishing the food! Enjoy your meal!
When in doubt always go for Indian cuisine. You cannot go wrong by dining on Indian food. The cuisine is heart-warming and classic compilation of curries designed to bring you comfort and solace. The practice of dunking a piece of buttery naan in a bowl of curry instantly lifts up your spirits. When your palate has had too much of Chinese or American, it always comes back to the comforting embrace of Indian food. In the world of Indian fine dining, Gulatis of Pandara Road is name taken with respect. A couple belonging from the same family decided to display their culinary talent via their restaurant ‘Gulati Spice Market’. This interesting name instantly hooks your attention, rising your hopes up in anticipation of a grand Indian meal to come. The restaurant itself is located in Southern Park District Centre in Saket.
By the name, you might assume that Gulati Spice Market is all about North Indian food but here you are wrong. Their menu stretches up to accommodate the regional cuisines from Lucknow, Hyderabad, Rajasthan and Bengal as well. This lends the menu a wonderful diversity, letting you explore the cuisines from all over India by sitting at one place. They home deliver too, in case you feel lazy. We like the idea of custom making your own cocktails. If you are more of a wine person, peek at their impressive wine selection. Try twice cooked spicy kukad, tandoori kathal and pathar ka gosht in first course. Main course deserves your undivided attention. Tuck into, paneer tak a tak, spice market patila gosht, Gulati’s butter chicken, prawn butter masala, rajasthani laal maas, subz miloni and Hyderabadi dum ka murgh.
Enjoy your curries with a gilafi naan or sheermal or laal mirch ka parantha. A rice lover can choose to mop up the curries with biryani. Sip on a masala chai or black coffee with milk to wrap up your meal. Gulati Spice Market pampers your sweet tooth with a smorgasbord of desserts. Indulge in something innovative like a moong dal cigar or a mango medley. There are few classic sweet dishes too such as, phirni of the day or gulab jamun. Interiors are designed to exude warmth, earthiness and elegance. The decor is the perfect amalgamation of traditional Indian and modern décor. Another enchanting touch are the jars of whole spices kept around the room. Gulati Spice Market is on the expensive side however.
