Step in and you will be pleasantly surprised at the heightened activity in a huge hall where hundreds of people are eating, drinking, laughing and smoking aromatic hookahs. The ground floor is buzzing with loud music and huge TV screens adding to the spirit. If you want a quiet corner, take the staircase and find a suitable seat, you will be well attended and given the same menu. As the name suggests, the food reflects local dishes of various regions. I chose to start my meal with ‘Chakhna Platter’ which had everything I like: popcorn, masala peanuts, channa jor garam, three kinds of fried papad and colour fingers. So much to nibble on with my 'Ganna Gaad Ke Drink’ made of sugarcane juice, mint, amla juice, elderflower n rock salt. How could I not have 'Gol Gappas' shots and 'Aloo Tikki' nukkad waali? Both were tasty but I preferred the preparation of 'Mumbai Vada Pav' more. It came hot and had just the right kind of texture and spices with delicious chutneys. What steals the show is ‘Sardarji ki Fish Masala Fry’, kick-ass 'Honey Chilli Potato', 'Gandhiji Masala Bread Omelette' and 'Ginger Chicken Momos' from the Thapa Momo Centre. In the mains, do not miss 'Lucknawi Galouti' on 'Mini Warki Paratha' and a 'Dry Chilli Chicken'; they are spicy, flavoursome and delightful. I loved 'Bachpan Ki Maggie Masala' and 'Bahadur Thela Style Chowmein'. For the health conscious, 'Heritage Superfood Salad' with Quinoa, Beetroot, lentil, fits the bill. Round off your meal with 'Mini paneer Jalebi With Rabri'.
