At one level, it is the newly redone lobby lounge cum pâtisserie that has been a part of the lobby in Shangri La for years; at another, it is an extremely clever take on cutting chai at a roadside stall, keeping all the accoutrements of five star dining intact. The pastry counter has a few rather unusual fillings for their chocolate bonbons: aam papad and gulkand. Some snacks are served in tiffin carriers and the cutting chai comes with street-side flavours such as kadak masala, cutting chai or spiced with individual masalas such as ajwain or saunf.
