It is the beautiful kitchen that draws you into the restaurant. But by then you’re quite taken in by the décor. Classy with beautiful modern touches, this is one restaurant that actually values your privacy, setting up tables far apart so that you cannot overhear the next tables conversations. The dishes have esoteric names, but it is the taste that does not quite live up to its mark. Next up was the 'Tea-Infused Chicken' which honestly sounded better on paper than how it tasted. Under seasoned and sharp on the tannins, this is one of the most missable things on the menu. The 'Duck Moile', however, was delicious. This spicy curry served with rice was comforting and rich. For dessert, we opted to eat ‘The Paintbox’ - which was more to do with art than to actually eat it. If you do eat it, the edginess of the lemon curd will hit you hard. The 'Flan' too has the same problem.
NUEVA ... a fine dine lunch during a weekday with a friend turned out to be surprisingly amazing and heady. A discovery for me coz though I had heard of this place never knew what it was about or that the cuisine was influenced by the South American continent. A smooth reservation by EazyDiner, Nueva at Sangam Courtyard is a two level restaurant, with the ground floor housing the lounge and the first is a fine dine restaurant with an open glass wall kitchen and a Private Dining Room. Polished and well trained servers and loved their beige coloured uniform, I loved the plush yet very comfortable seating and the whole happy feel of the restaurant, which can be contributed to the earthy and light colours and ample natural light. Greeted by an Amuse Bouche ... a crispy cracker mounted with cheese we took off with a pint of Hoegaarden each. Personally I fall in love with a restaurant whenever they add a slice of sweet lime to the mug of my favourite brew. Ordered the Chicken wings and the Cha Sui Pork to start with. The rocoto chilli sauce is not too spicy and lends the wings a nice hot but bearable flavour. The Barbecued Pork belly was served in a sauce which the menu said was a Chinese influenced Peruvian recipe ... sounds confusing but believe me it was just yum and I couldn’t put down the fork until the whole plate was wiped out clean. We were served an amazing palate cleanser after the appetisers and loved the way they were presented. The finale was the New Zealand Lamb rack on a bed of couscous served with a Georgian Plum sauce (finger licking) and grilled eggplant. Again “spot on” presentation and the lamb was one of the best that I have tasted in a long time. We skipped the dessert but they did serve us chocolate balls and I loved how the restaurant staff was attentive but not overtly hovering around our heads. A meal for two after 25% discount through EazyDiner was around 3200 bucks. I found it great Value for money and a filling afternoon.
In my earlier visits to Sangam Courtyard, have thought of dining here but opted for the other regular names This time went in for early dinner at Nueva and we were the only guest there. The whole feel of experimentation have way to a good experience when we had the lovely tortillas that were great to have. The restaurant has a lovely decor and seating arrangement are really well placed for guests.
I had never thought that I would be able to taste Latin American food in the heart of Delhi. Nueva presented the taste of the continent on the plate very well with excellent presentation as well. The staff were courteous and treated us well, the space was well designed and ambience was nice. It was a great evening. Thanks Nueva. We had Chimichuri mushrooms (really good) Seafood platter which had prawns, calamari and fish (it was a full meal for 2) Steak argentino Kaffir lime ice tea (recommended)
I didnt expect to get good veg food but neverthless we reserved the table as we wanted to try the place. We are vegetarians btw. We were pleasantly surprised to get awesome veg food. Every item (flat bread pizza , pasta, zucchini lasagne, Kiwi shot etc )was good and freshly made. The staff was helpful too. Prices were reasonable. Worth a visit
The food was good. We had ordered some Peruvian and some Indian starters. The Peruvian starters were good but not so the Indian starters. Good service and ambience. My forzen Margarita was just right. Had issues with the bill. The bill was presented and i immediately noticed a dish which we had never ordered or even contemplated ordering. Noticed the first dish faux-pas and returned the bill for correction. Would have thought that they would have gone thru the bill carefully again but no, the second time i found another dish that was not ordered.
The dynamics of Delhi NCR’s gastronomic scene is changing as the palates of the diners are becoming more evolved. European food is finding it’s way deeper into the fold and is bringing with it a fresh exotic approach of those untapped regions, which the city is just waking up to. These newly dawned cuisines are innovative and bold in style, filling the gourmets with an excitement of exploring an untapped territory. Revolutionizing the dining scene lately is a new kid on the block called ‘Nueva’, where global cuisines are getting a modern makeover. This gorgeous looking restaurant is located on the Ground Floor, Sangam Courtyard, R K Puram, New Delhi, a node of stylish restaurants bursting with life. Nueva may be fairly new on the scene but has quickly piqued our interest with its air of originality.
Nueva has come to be known for it’s innovative style in Western, Latin American and Peruvian cuisine. It’s fascination for South American food has bought on a sense of adventure amongst the local food community as they are rushing to book a table at this popular progressive restaurant. Food is definitely expensive but to save yourself a bundle, look into EazyDiner offers or Nueva coupons. Variety is immense, one trip won’t be nearly enough to explore the menu fully. Opt for a bottle of wine to pair the meal. Start with, mariscos a la plancha, chimichurri mushrooms, Navajo spiced calamari, Andean corn & beans salad, peruanito and tamalitos. Dig deeper with, flat bread & filo pizza, Brazilian barbeque grilled chicken, pollo asado, Nuestra paella, Brazilian braised fava beans, lobestor a la plancha, steak argentino and vegetables chilli lime.
Sip a tall order of Pure Verde, a delicious cooler made with kiwi, cucumber, spicy jalapenos and lime remix straight to Peru. Indulge your sweet tooth with, two way quinoa pudding, parched, cinnamon tiramisu, the paint box, arroz con leche and soufflé de chocolate. Their seasonal menu changes every few months, keep a track of that. Food is beautifully styled and each dish is a work of art. Interiors of Nueva are straight out of a lifestyle magazine. Décor is the epitome of elegance with modern sleek lines attracting your eye instantly. Warm woody tones are used to create the space that lends a welcoming vibe to the room. Ambience is refined and serene at times. It’s a great place to bring someone special.
