Padmanabham, as the name suggests, is inspired by Lord Padmanbhaswamy. It is the South Indian vegetarian eatery that brings the mix of popular delicacies from South India to the table for Delhiites. As one steps in, each fine detailing in interiors catches the eye; be it the Mandala or the Kalamkari artwork inspired by Meenakshi temple or the Chettinad pillars. It exhibits the true essence of this place. The menu has been carefully crafted and curated by Chef Consultant Bakshish Dean. It sees the flavours of the grandmother’s kitchen. Kickstarting with 'Paddu' or 'Paniyaram' (Plain, Carrot, Garlic and Mushroom) served with 'Tomato Garlic Chutney' followed by 'Paruppu Vadai', 'Ghee Podi idli' and 'Milagai Bhajji'; they ideally make for the great snacky item. Fiddling for something more, the south Indian inspired "Sixty Five" - 'Mushroom 65', 'Gobhi 65', 'Potato 65', 'Paneer 65', tossed and topped with right spices is a hit. 'Kalan Chettinadu Masala' (Mushroom Curry), 'Guttivankaya Koora' (Stuffed Aubergine Andhra Pradesh), 'Kappa' (Tapioca) Biryani' are also served here. Make sure you mash and eat the 'Idiappam' or the 'Puttu Kadala Curry' with your hand. It will give you that burst of flavours and taste.
