This is the signature Indian restaurant of the Taj Group of Hotels and of its most famous chef Hemant Oberoi. The food is modern Indian and can often be exceptional: a millefeuille of masala crab is Chef Oberoi's most popular creation but even the more robust dishes such as Martaban ka meat, a curry of mutton in pickling spices served in achaar jars, are triumphs. The room is coolly elegant and service is smooth and unobtrusive. This is the place to take a foreign guest if you want a flawless experience.
My special thanks to Rashminder Singh for a great hospitality. Must try signature Gulab Jamun cheese cake.
Rashminder Singh Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our friends visiting us from Copenhagen today evening, food was absolutely wonderful, nice differentiated presentation. Your wine and cocktail Recommendations was tasteful and commensurate with starter and main course.
Very nice food. Chef Rajesh always aims at perfection!! Its our Go to place for North Indian Food. The starters are amazing. The presentation is too good! All in all a lovely experience.
Each, every and just about any word of praise falls short of describing how amazing this really place is. One really outstanding item from the restaurant is their Lemon Leaf Naan- different, delicious and very niche. Recommended by the person serving our table-Thomas the naan was amazingly intriguing. And for the entire experience I have to thank #Thomas for his gracious service.

There are some occasions when you want to leave a flawless impression but the difficulty lies in finding the perfect restaurant where you would not be shame faced. A place that delivers on all three accounts. Service, food and ambience. Varq at the Taj Mahal hotel, New Delhi is one such place. This amazing dining establishment is one of the oldest and signature restaurants of this esteemed hotel group. So much so they have their own line of special herbal teas to pair with the food. Now that is a serious commitment to the food. Chef Hemant Oberoi takes pride in his sophisticated kingdom of culinary delight that reeks class and elegance. if you want to flaunt exceptional cooking with superb service head over to Varq with your dinner companion. The restaurant is known for its modern Indian gastro-adventure and refined clientele. This place does not welcome kids especially at dinner time. Opt for this place when you want some fine dining experience.
The menu is short yet takes you on delightful culinary spree. The influence of clever cooking can be judged by the recipes and their special twist. Appetizers like tandoori lobster, narangi black cod, varqui crab, Haleem ke kebab, khurmani ke kebab, kothmir wadi, Bhatti prawns, carpaccio and chaat, lamb roti jala and ambedi fish tikka are part of the delectable menu. The soups like lobster rassa and kale chane ki cappuccino are definite success. The entrees are as interesting as the appetizers. Masala cod on rice, duck four ways, sunehri nalli, raan ki potli, mirch aur malai gucchi, nadru aur anjeer ke kofte, paneer anardana, mustard prawn, gosht biryani are some of their finest additions. The martaban ka meat is one recipe you should not leave without trying. A millefeuille of masala crab is chef Oberoi’s signature creation and must have. Accompany your mains with mini olive naan, camembert and truffle naan, naanza and mirch ka paratha. At this point a saffron lassi will do very nicely.
The dessert menu reflects coffee rasgulla tiramisu, the dome, tille wali kulfi, chocolate gulab jamun, crispy kalakand, sorbet, apple kheer and shahi tukda. Varq is on the expensive side so keep it a special occasion place. The cool sophistication of the restaurant will not leave you disappointed. It is one of those places where you have assurance of class and great experience.
