Taj Mahal Hotel, Delhi is home to some of the most exclusive restaurants in the city and the hotel takes pride in each one of them. Every restaurant in unique and special in its own right. â€˜Wasabi By Morimotoâ€™ is a collaboration between Taj group and iron chef Masaharu Morimoto. The Japanese chef has lend his name and expertise to this wonderful restaurant so much so he has especially sent a Japanese chef to lend authenticity to the cuisine. This is his flagship restaurant and he has left no stones unturned to make it a raving hit. To maintain the highest of standards they get their fish flown in from the Tsukiji market of Tokyo and sushi made by a Japanese chef especially shipped by Morimoto. DÃ©cor of the Wasabi is very posh and contemporary suiting its sophisticated clientele to a T. Gleaming red chandelier overhead and edgy tables underneath is a sight worth seeing.

Open kitchen at one end is a visual delight with chefs showing off their knife skills on your food. Besides the modern Japanese food Chef Hemant Oberoi has included some vegetarian dishes to the menu as per the Indian customers. The patrons absolutely love the sushi and sashimi served by the skilled chefs. Sushi rolls in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available. The appetizers you could start with are Yellowtail carpaccio, ebi tempura, spicy king crab, tuna pizza, miso soup, surf and turf, pork kakuni, teriyaki chicken leg, shira ae, mushroom tartar, edamame, seaweed salad and rock corn tempura. The mains can be relished as the lunch set section which shows Japanese curries, tempura, steamed rice all served at one place. This option is easiest and quick. Take full advantage of Teppanyaki grill which has various proteins and is a favourite amongst the punters.

To conclude the meal stop at green tea ice cream which is a huge hit with the customers and is ordered frequently. Wasabi crÃ¨me brulee, tofu mousse, wasabi sorbet, ice cream trio, anmitsu and grilled banana are their other sweet speciality. Wasabi by Morimoto is a wonderful restaurant dedicated to forever change the face of Japanese cuisine in India. Though quite expensive it is a place to wine and dine.
