Four Best Places In Mumbai Serving Delectable Healthy Food
Deliciously Detoxing
24 Jan, 2017 by Roxanne Bamboat2017 promises to be a healthier year with clean eating. Many restaurants are making a conscious decision to opt for lighter menus and are getting more creative with super foods. Healthy food does not translate into bland or tasteless food anymore and these restaurants that have started mushrooming all over town are doing their best to provide nutritious food that tastes great. These are our top picks for a wholesome healthy meal out.
212 All Good – The motto followed at this café is that they serve you food that is good for your gut. Nourishing and locally sourced produce is the key here, but do not expect some bland boring health food. From a tender coconut pad Thai, sweet and savoury toasts, breakfast bowls to cauliflower risotto and eggless omelettes. The choices are plenty and it has also got an interesting selection of probiotic shakes and their own in-house colas. They also make their own ketchup, mayonnaise and hot sauce, which are delicious accompaniments. It is different from other restaurants and is a great choice for a nutritious meal out.
Sequel Bistro & Juice Bar – This is one of the few eateries in the city that is completely gluten-free and devoid of any refined sugar. They make their own bread, their own nut milk and have plenty of vegan options on their menu. This is more than just a casual café and the menu is more extensive including a choice of desserts but while the food is as healthy as it can get, the only downside is that their portions are far smaller than one would expect and for the price you pay.
Kitchen Garden by Suzette – Suzette is known for their indulgent crepes but their sister concern is a much healthier café. The Kitchen Garden offers diners a whole range of dishes to choose from and each dish is full of good nutritious ingredients. From salad bowls, sandwiches and even their own breakfast specials, there is a lot of variety than just regular salads. They even have what they call 'small pots', which are smaller portioned dishes that are perfect if you need to do a takeaway and have no time to sit and enjoy a meal.
Bombay Salad Co – This two-year-old restaurant is still one of the most popular spots in Bandra. Most of the time you have to wait for a table because people flock here for their salads and wraps. The highlight is that while you can make your own salad, the 29 other salads listed do not feature any of the standard generic choices like a Caesar's Greek or nicoise. This place is vibrant, fun, no fuss and easy on the pocket making it a very attractive dining spot when you are looking for healthier options.
