Winter is almost here and while all of us are busy prepping for the cold season by getting out our coziest winter wear, warm blankets, and whatnot, let’s not forget the fact that besides being brutally frosty, winters also bring with them a treasure trove of lip-smacking seasonal recipes with them. Seeing that winter dishes are always special, they are not only delicious but also keep you warm and active during the bitter winters, we have decided to compile an interesting list of all the delightful winter recipes from all over the world and the dining destinations right here in Delhi NCR you can visit to sample them. Vietnam: Pho

Ah, good old noodle soup. Pho is a popular street dish in Vietnam that is made up of rice noodles, meat, bean sprouts, and a few indigenous herbs including but not limited to mint. Pronounced as 'Fuh' and not 'Foe' is a stellar local dish often found on the streets of Vietnam and normally eaten for breakfast or lunch and the perfect winter comfort food that will leave you asking for more.

Tibet/Nepal: Thukpa with Momos

Much like Vietnam's Pho, the Himalayan countries of Tibet & Nepal have their own version of broth-based noodle soup called Thukpa, a noodle dish, which comes with assorted vegetables and derives its main flavor from the minced meat that's added into it along with ginger and garlic. Korea: Sundubu-jjigae (Silken Tofu Stew)

Served in a large stone bowl designed to retain heat, Sundubu-jjigae is a hearty and comforting Korean stew made with extra soft dubu (tofu), vegetables, mushrooms, thinly sliced meat (seafood, beef, or pork), Kimchi and gochujang (chili paste). They also crack an egg in just before serving, the egg sets in the hot broth, and gives a nice contrasting flavor with the tofu-infused broth. Switzerland: Fondue

Fondue has become a popular dish in the western world since it originated in Switzerland in the 1600s. The dish is very simple to make; cheese is melted in a pot above a heat source and sometimes, wine or broth is added to the mix for flavor. Then pieces of bread and other foods are dipped into the warm cheese with a long fork. The cheesy delight has since been claimed as Switzerland’s national dish.
