Restaurants serving the best dishes perfect for this rainy weather.

It might be an inconvenient time of the year but apart from watching the waves splash or long drives in the rain, one of the best ways to enjoy the monsoon is to indulge in your favourite dishes. The rainy season really works up an appetite. There is something about the monsoons that romanticises food and we picked some brilliant dishes at restaurants in Mumbai that you need to eat in this season.

Mac & Cheese Poppers - Hard Rock Cafe
Fried food and cheese are a match made in heaven. While the most common appetizer is Jalapeno poppers often stuffed with processed cheese, the Mac & Cheese Poppers at Hard Rock Cafe are just melt in your mouth perfect to snack on.  They're fried bite-sized snacks of gooey cheese with jalapeno and macaroni bits coated in breadcrumbs. They're served with cheese fueled Alfredo dip and are delicious.

Esquite Corn  - XICO
Monsoon season is synonymous with corn but give the good old bhutta a miss and opt for the decadent Esquite from Xico. It's a pot of charred sweet corn kernels tossed together in a chipotle mayonnaise and topped with a generous amount of cotija cheese. It's creamy, cheesy and just perfect for this weather not to mention incredibly tasty.

Onion Rings - Cream Centre
Despite multiple outlets across the city, this is one legendary restaurant that is always packed to the gills. It's actually no surprise because some of the food here is just too comforting to miss out on. Plenty of popular picks here but when it's pouring outside there is nothing like enjoying a plate of hot crispy fried onion rings.

Nachos - Chili's American Grill & Bar
Nachos if done right can be tremendously satisfying on a  gloomy rainy day. Most places either get stingy with the amount of cheese or then skimp out on the additional toppings. The Nachos at Chili's American Grill & Bar have a perfect balance of both. The Classic Nachos come with melted cheese, jalapenos, beans, sour cream and a house-made pico de gallo. To take it up a notch you can ask for an addition of either grilled chicken or buffalo meat, both are fantastic but even eaten in its vegetarian form these Nachos won't let you down.
