Just off the highway in Porvorim stands Barcode − one cannot miss the old house converted to match modern dining. Enter past the open garden for seating in a stark black and white air-conditioned space. Murals on the wall add to its identity. The table setting in black with tasteful cutlery give it a fine dine avatar. The menu has a wide cuisine trail to choose from spanning across Asian, Italian, Mediterranean and Goan. Try the mezze platter − a meal enough for two as well as the spinach and goat cheese ravioli for the vegetarians.
Me and my wife wanted go out for dinner with friends..so we checked on Google for a place..we came across Barcode which we had not been before..we were 4 of us...this place is out of this world..the food is worth dying for...all the food we ordered was delicious...we were fortunate to have unlimited cocktails for 700 per person...which is on every Thursday...if you want good food with your family or friends BARCODE is the place to go to...we have already planned our next trip..we will see you all soon..keep up the good work..yes the service was excellent...
This place used to be my favorite place to chill until one day there was a lizard on the wall , a fly in my drink ! a rat that ran over my cousins foot . i mean guys clean up the place !
Nicely designed place.good quality food and location.they do serve alcohol .must try goan fish thali.
This is typically a neighbourhood restaurant where in we head for some great continental food. The service is excellent and its decently priced too. They also serve great drinks to accompany your food. Grilled fish and grilled chicken breast are must tries.
I'm a glutton for punishment. I think I've been to this place twice before and been highly disappointed but decided to give it one last shot. I ordered the fat cat sandwich and a masala chai which took over an hour to come to the table even though I was the only one there at 11 AM. The total bill came to 300+ but get this the toasted sandwich was soggy and didn't contain mozzarella and mushrooms as promised. Instead it had some meagre chicken and salad vegetables. The fries were OK but I suspect straight out of a bag. And the thimble of tea @ 50 was much too much. Mind you everything is plated perfectly and looks awesome but somehow never makes up in taste.
Lounges in Goa are dime a dozen, with each place trying to outdo each other by fresh ideas packed in sensational ambience. Goa has become quite a tourist magnet with each passing year, resulting in an influx of trendy pubs and lounges fighting for a space. If you want to party like a native then parading in south goa is your best bet, where you will end up bombarded by various great lounges and pubs to experience the local flavour. ‘Barcode Lounge and Grill’ happen to be a personal favourite, encased in a charming locality of Penha de Franca, just opposite Goa Scan Centre at Alto Porvorim. The place is not difficult to find and is a lively busy place, enlivened even more as the evening falls. For those who want to party in Goa with some good live music and a cosy ambience, Barcode Lounge and Grill can prove to be a good solution.
Like many quaint dining spots in Goa, Barcode Lounge and Grill enjoys a lovely colonial façade, where an old house is converted into quite a wonderful dining spot. As you step onto the threshold, you will come upon a delightful open garden, which little further opens into a stark black and white dining area. As colourful as the exteriors are, the inside is quite unexpected and surprisingly opposite to what you might hope to find. A simple well-spaced room is done entirely in monochromatic tone of black and white, with a bar area in the corner carrying the barcode pattern. Walls are mostly left bare, except for the occasional frame or a mural of a woman. To sit they have provided grey formal tables along with matching chairs and sofas, to be chosen as the mood deem fit.
The vibe at Barcode Lounge and Grill is casual, relaxed, buzzing and cosy. Each table is lit by a small votive candle in the evenings, casting a romantic haze on the evening. Food wise, the lounge is quite satisfying. Indulge in American, Continental and some regional Goan fare as a start. Commence with. Prawn cocktail, mushroom cappuccino, cheese fondue, grilled chicken supreme, stuffed crabs, quesadillas, bruschetta and crispy sardines. Main course pans widely between North-Indian and Goan curries, grilled fare, pastas and even some European delicacies. For your sweet tooth go for baileys bomb, serradura, desi guava ice cream, matka kulfi and chocolate mud cake.
