A creative hangout nestled around the slopes of Sangolda − Deekhsha Thind and her sons Zora and Siddarth created Saraya. By definition, it means infinite − as one enters and walks down the stairs, water gurgling down the side, streams past the pizza oven to one’s right and the wooden benches in the garden, on either sides, finally towards the main hall that doubles up as an art gallery. It has a very ‘born-free’ Bohemian concept − ‘oneness’ with nature. The menu is inspired by a similar ethos, dedicating most of the preparations to organic and homegrown produce from the gardens out back. The availability of ingredients dictates the ever-changing menu. One of their fastest moving dishes is the herb-cooked mushroom filled with feta cheese, spinach caramelised onions, black olives and tomatoes.
All those who say there's no veg food in Goa,try this place.... Amazing food, best pizzas and good drinks!! Healthy choice for those who prefer their food to be gluten free too... Great place to hang out with a big group of friends. Good, friendly service.
This place is an entirely different world in itself. The open air cafe gives you a rustic homely feeling. You can see the influence of nature in each and every aspect of this place. The pizzas are wood fired and they are the best veg pizzas you can get. The hummus dips are a must have along with the vegan smoothies
Saraya is a small gem popular for it's pizzas. It's an eco-sustainable pure vegetarian cafe which has an eco stay in the complex. The complex is beautiful and has these lights all along the path. As soon as you enter, there is a huge wood fire oven for pizzas. Although be warned, do not take a seat close to it or your hair, clothes will smell of smoke for hours. Their menu is probably one of the most beautiful ones I have seen. We went there in the evening and had their three cheese pizza. They grow their own vegetables and herbs, so the pizzas are made using homegrown ingredients. It was good but they had added a little too much oil to it post baking. Around 10:30, they started preparing to close and by 10:45, we were one of the last guests to leave. Warning- their bill book said they accepted paytm but at that moment they were only taking cash. The restaurant does not serve alcohol but it's BYOB so if you want to drink, feel free to take along a bottle.
This is one of the best and most unique eateries in goa. Its pure veg and non alcholic reatraunt with ingrained goaness in everything that is being served . The owner is most wonderful lady 'D' who is architect by profession and goan at heart. Most people who serve here are volunteers who live here for short interval and in exchange work. Saraya is not just restraunt or art gallery or ecostay but a way of life. Be here to understand it. Pizzas coffee humus all are freshly made and served with loads of love and life
Goa is littered with eating places-big and small- but what makes saraya so special is the amazing vibe of the place. Pure vegetarian and organic, locally sourced produce along with the love and care which goes into cooking the food takes it to another level. The service is warm and relaxed, the music eclectic, the house cats and dogs friendly and cuddly. The place is also a centre of great learning experiences and workshops and displays the works of artists!!
