Most of the people when visiting Goa comes with intention to party and to taste the thrilling nightlife the city is so famous for. Nevertheless, there are people who look beyond the rave parties and beach clubs to a place where the constant sound of waves acts as a relaxing balm to your frayed nerves. Once you leave beyond the nightlife of Goa you will find the city an excellent place to unwind and recharge your battery. Walk past those loud eateries where party never stops and slip into this cozy welcoming café for a pleasant peaceful time sans booze. Called ‘Black Vanilla’ by residents in Panaji, where the café is located, the eatery enjoys a picturesque backdrop of this beautiful heritage locality. Its placed bang opposite Kala Academy Campal on DB Road, keep an eye out.The menu of Black Vanilla keeps in mind the diverse palate of Goan diners. They step away from the conventional suspects you see on most Goan menus by focusing entirely on French and European cuisines. Their food is experimental and diverse, a fact that shines throughout the menu. What we specifically like is the OFS concept i.e. make your Own Freaking Salad. You can compile a salad of your choice from a great selection of toppings offered by them. Open your day with a hearty breakfast at Black Vanilla. Pair your glass of muskmelon juice with a bowl of cereal or granola bars or fresh seasonal fruits. It will keep you energized throughout the day. For a bit more filling fare, opt for a delicious sunflower seed burger with grilled veggies or classic pepperoni pizza. Something delectable from their sandwich section will do fabulously. There are some really interesting fillings to be tried in burger and sandwich section. To beat the Goan sun ask for a blueberry iced tea or cool ginger ale. Coffee lovers can enjoy a cup of coffee with their sandwiches. A thick oreo shake or a brownie shake can take care of your ever-craving sweet tooth. Prices are surprisingly affordable at Black Vanilla. Indulge thoroughly and freely. The dining area at Black Vanilla sprawls across two floors. Sturdy wooden tables flanked by couple of colourful metal chairs are dotted around the room on both levels. A bookshelf loaded with reading material can be browsed through for a quiet time. Ambience is casual, tranquil and relaxing.

Black Vanilla is a cafe in DB Road, Panaji serving beverages, pizza and sandwiches. Known for coffee and desserts; ideal for coffee catch-ups and casual meals.

Buttered almond caramel croissant and a cappuccino. Spiced it up with two beef croquettes. Delectable!
Perfect place to relax or even do some work. Pleasant, friendly and efficient staff.

Great food great coffee.

Bang on the main road and yet so easy to miss. Parking can be an issue but you should find space across the road. Good sandwiches and pizza. Good coffee. Although They are a little tight on space. Staff is effecient and not intrusive. Overall a great place for conversations

A small and quiet place. Very nicely done interiors and cozy lighting. Needless to say amazing for dates :D. A lot of couples here! There's a high chance you'll not find a place to sit because of the limited seating here. As far as the food goes, it's pretty good! The burgers were filling :). Good choice of beverages (non alcoholic) too. All in all you'll find the rates are overpriced. But with the ambience in here, and the cozy interiors, you'll definitely have a good time and won't mind anyway.

Coffee
The coffee here was really good, they serve Lavazza with a cookie.

Ambiance
Interiors are great, it's very artistic in here. One could sit and work as well from here. The only problem is if 2-3 tables are occupied it's gets a bit too loud.

Location
It's right opposite Kala academy. Could be quite tricky to find parking though.

Overall its a great place!

Pizza, desserts, mocktails, cupcakes, sandwiches, gourmet coffee, books, guitar, comfy seating, cozy atmosphere, warm service ! Wow ! So many things under one roof. Black vanilla absolutely lives upto the word cafe and cafe culture. All the food and drink items are tasty, service is fast and nice. There is something magical about this place which will drag you inside every time you pass on the road next to it. That rustic wooden name board has some dark, black secrets which hypnotists their customers and makes them come back again and again! Cheers for the best cafe in panjim !

Absolutely unsatisfied! The service staff are slow. If you have a seat on upper floor, you yourself have to climb down the stairs if you need anything, the service staff will never come up after they give you the order. Also extremely expensive prices.

Great decor and perfect ambience for a good cup of cappuccino and their special NY cheese cake. Staff is cool, helpful in making the right choices, take a seat by the window on the first floor, and enjoy the beautiful sea view from within really smart and colourful interiors.

Love the coffee! The chicken burger was crisp and well cooked.
Great place to sit and read.
They have some books there in case you haven't taken any of your own.
You'd want to visit this place in Panjim if your looking for somewhere you read and have a quick bite.
They have a good menu and perfect for people with a sweet tooth!
