We visited Goa from 25mar until 29mar.we regularly ordered from this restaurant as their meals were rightly spiced and had excellent taste.once or twice we ordered from a different restaurant but their taste could never matched to what this cafe had to offer.I wanted to get some food packed to bring back to Delhi and Alvin(the owner) arranged to have it delivered to me even though the time was very short.ultimately I did not carry it back as we did not want it to get spoilt due to hot weather, but Alvin's customer services just wowed us. I would highly recommend this restaurant as it offers food that has a rich taste and an owner who believes in pulling all plugs to serve his customers. Thanks again..truly appreciate everything. Attractive restaurant located on the coast road. We remembered it as our first ever restaurant in India 8 years ago. Good prices good service.
We visited this place on our last Day in Calangute on 14th August 2018. Its located in the Junction of Post office road and Aguada-Siolim road - about 1 KM from Calangute beach. The ambience has a mix of Goan-Portuguese vibe. We went in around 1pm and the crowd was sparse there. As we already tasted few other seafood items in other restaurants in the past couple of days in our trip, we decided to go for Crabs. There were 2 options : with Butter Garlic and with Goan masala. We went with Goan masala as the other one is a bit on the sweet side. Along with it, ordered Peas Polau. The Crab in Goan masala was spicy and delicious. It turned out to be a nice match with the Peas Pulao. Along with it, we ordered Virgin Mojito, Maaza and last but not the least Fried Ice Cream with Caramel Sause - this is a must have if you are visiting this place. Will savour for a long time. Staff behaviour was nice and the service time was short as well.
The Goan lifestyle is often described as 'Sussegado': calm and laid-back and Cafe Sussegado Souza lives up to it. Located in the popular beach town of Calangute next to the Jack Sequiera bust, this restaurant has an old-fashioned vibe about it. Like most other Goan restaurants, this prides itself in its seafood. I ordered their signature fish curry with rice, while my colleague went for the poi with sausages. The service was slow (this is where the Sussegado comes in). This could be both good or bad, depending on whether one is in a hurry or not! The ambience was quite good. The food itself was quite good; the quantity was good and the taste wasn't bad; not the best Goan food I have had, but not too far off it either. I felt it's a place one can go to relax and just imbibe the Goan nature; else one can give it a skip. It's relatively more expensive than some other joints, but not too bad.
Often call in here for an iced tea when ive been shopping. A great place to people watch. The staff are really friendly.
