It is earthy, open and naturalistic. Mayur Dhond has a restaurant in his own backyard Edward's Yard, nostalgically named after the caretaker who took care of the family. Set amidst nature in the small village of St Andre, one has to look out for the bright yellow signpost on the bye pass road, along with a twisty narrow lane amidst towering coconut palms. The entrance to the colourful shed is like a beacon amongst the foliage of betel palms, papaya trees and even the kathal, which blooms during summer. Enter the pinewood enclosure and you will find tables standing sturdy with tyre rims, and the fish swimming lazily in the tank. The varieties listed will leave you gawking in pleasure. The bar offers an ample variety of straight pouring spirits. The Duck Special is a great way to start. Go Pan Asian with the Wok tossed 'Vietnamese Bassa' and its crusty coat and crunchy spring onions will get your palate on the go. The starters seem to be winning right down to the finishing line but take time out to order the 'Rawa Masala Chicken'. For the veggies, opt for the 'Crispy Bhindi' also known as 'Okra Salt & Pepper'. For dessert, sign off with the 'Devil's Cream' or the gooey 'Chocolate Blob'.
