Firdaus by Taj Krishna showcases the culinary jewels from the royal kitchens of the Nizams along with a handful of popular North Indian and Telugu food. The ambience is appropriately plush and the service is attentive. In the appetisers, the 'Patthar Ka Gosht', marinated 'Lamb Piccatas' cooked on a heated slab of stone, truly dazzles. 'Haleem', a popular Ramzan speciality, is served at Firdaus through the year. A 'One and a half metre long Seekh Kebab' and a pot roasted 'Whole Leg of Lamb' are some of the other highlights at Firdaus. The 'Kacche Biryani' here is good but falls short of being spectacular. While Hyderabad fare is revered for its non-vegetarian delicacies, Firdaus also offers a decent amount of options to vegetarians. Besides showcasing classics like 'Khatti Dal' and 'Kaddu ka Dalcha', vegetarian variants of traditionally non-vegetarian dishes are also available.
