The Indian restaurant at The Trident Hitech City has a classy décor with beige being the prevalent colour. The restaurant which is open only in the evening has live performances of ghazals and Hindustani instrumental music. The live kitchen showcases food from many parts of India, including the North West Frontier. The food at Kanak is different from usual restaurants. Instead of popular Indian dishes, they concentrate on recipes both from Royal kitchens as well as traditional homes. The menu has select items from successful promotions of The Oberoi Group, as well as favourites of loyal clients. From starters, try their 'Adraki Chaapein', tandoori mutton chops in a ginger coriander marinade or 'Anjeer Til Palak ki Tikki' a soft spinach and sesame seed vegetarian appetiser. 'Sikandari Raan' or slow-cooked lamb leg in a cashew and almond based gravy is one of my favourites here. 'Martaban ke Bateyr', a pickled preparation of quail definitely merits a close look. For dessert, their 'Gulab Phirnee' is something not to be missed.
