Spice Junxion is one of those restaurants that often does not get enough credit. It has been around for years, and has always been a dependable venue for South Indian soul food. Spice Junxion skilfully blends old world charm with elegant and minimalistic décor elements are in line with modern sensibilities. The kitchen specialises in the regional cuisines of Hyderabad, Telangana, and Coastal Andhra. Coastal regions of Mangalore, Kerala, and even Bengal find a representation in the menu. Spice Junxion offers 3 thalis - Coastal Peninsula, Classic Telangana, and Royal Hyderabad in vegetarian and non-vegetarian variants. The Thalis are a great way to explore the cuisine of these regions. The soup and dessert are usually something fairly mundane and common across the thalis; however, the other courses do not disappoint. From the simple 'Dal' to the tangy 'Royyala Pulusu' and the luxuriant 'Dum ka Murgh' and 'Lasooni Mahi Tikka', the food across the board is impressive. There are occasional missteps. The 'Haleem' felt hurried and the 'Kosha Mangsho' was more of a Mangsher Jhol. However, these are few and far in between.
We had a lovely tiffin style set menu lunch at the Spice Junxion. They have pure Indian meal in both veg n non veg. In the evenings, they don't have Tiffin option, but have lovely a la carte options. We enjoyed group lunch with team. Interiors are lovely and unique in the way they have used various artifacts and kitchen items in the decor. Overall superb experience.
We were a large group and had a sit down lunch with a set menu. This gave us an opportunity to savour variety of Hyderabadi delicacies, quite different from the biryanis and salans one usually has.
Spice junxion had a Tiffen box set menu which was delicious. The tiffen box included a starter, fry, rice, puris, soup, salad and desert. Lovely food. The service was too slow and it took them almost 45 minutes to serve the order.
It was an typical indian type restaurant. And we recently visited with our family and had veg plate which was good.
The ambiance is ethnic, the layout of tables gave a sense of space around you, the music added to the nostalgia, the chairs were comfortable, the variety of local cuisine available on the menu was surprising, the food is delicious and in large proportions, the waiters were courteous, it seems that nothing could go wrong in this restaurant. Must visit at least once a month to try out different dishes in the menu.
