The sprawling (85 cover) round-the-clock coffee shop at Swissotel Kolkata looks best during the day with sunlight pouring in through the huge glass facade. On the other side is the café's alfresco dining area (plus smoking zone). The interiors are chic but snug; in fact, it is the laid-back atmosphere that makes Café Swiss especially endearing. The menu, a mix of European, Indian and Asian, is studded with classic Swiss delights such as apple strudel, pork schnitzel, potato rosti and bratwurst served with sauerkraut, mash and gravy. The desserts at Café Swiss stand out. The Swiss cheese cake served with a tart raspberry sorbet is to die for.
This multi cuisine restaurant rather than a Cafe is my most favorite in terms of the overall ambience & feel. Been here thrice. The Buffet Breakfast is widespread but this time around it wasnt really good. The Poha was very dry, The Medu Vada was too hard, All The Flavoured Yoghurts were sour. Even the mishthi dahi was sour , The aloo stuff parathas were bland. We did complain to the Chef and he was polite enough to offer us various options if we could wait for a while. But we had already filled ourselves with juices & toast butter & muffins.
I visited swissotel for the first time for my brunch there was a very elaborate menu..they had live counters as well serving you hot dimsums. I liked the squid and octopus salad and also chef Ritam introduced me to the different salads and suggested me few of me out of which the squid and octopus was very delicious. The staff was very courteous and helpful as well.. overall it was a very nice experience being there for the first time
Good spread of buffet, lot many things to eat catering to wide range of options for wide range of people. All the foods were of excellent quality and must try. Live counter is there for catering dosas, pan cakes etc. A special mention to Sous Chef Avick Chakraborty who made the breakfast even more special with special pancakes, rava dosa and as a dessert Sweet Curd or as Bengali say Misti Doi. Heavily recommended place to grab breakfast.
Had late lunch at this iconic restaurant and got my taste buds enamoured. We were so full with the amazing starters and salads that we had to leave the main course. Amazingly caring staff. Special mention about Chef Abhik. when he requested for some mushroom crepe , though it was not part of the menu, Chef went out of his way to make some for my guests. Thanks to the team and Chef Abhik for making it an amazing experience.
located on the 6th floor of the hotel swissotel, its a nice place to sit, eat, drink & enjoy. I liked the place. Enjoy watching people and beautiful ambience.
