Haka is an Oriental dining outfit from restaurateur Anjan Chatterjee, but it is quite different in format than its more illustrious (and more expensive) sibling Mainland China. The 120-cover restaurant (done in red, black and white) opened its doors at the City Centre Mall in Salt Lake (a second outlet came up later at the Mani Square Mall) in 2006, with a practical menu featuring familiar dishes such as Konjee crispy lamb and schezwan chilli chicken. A decade on, Haka is still popular, especially with those looking for value for money. The food is straightforward and does not pack in surprises, good or bad. They have a good selection of dim sums, siu mai and wantons, including chocolate wantons served with a caramel sauce for dessert.
