Kava at the Fairfield by Mariott is one exquisite restaurant. The restaurant is so damn good that me and my wife had visited there twice and we would love to visit again in near future for an absolute cracker of a Sunday lunch.

Food: Starter, main course and dessert items were quite palatable and there were so many options to choose from.

Atmosphere: The atmosphere was pleasant enough to enjoy the delicious food.

Service: Service was top notch and efficient.

We were so content that we had already visited Kava twice. The pricing would not burn a hole in your pocket. I have attached some of the photos here which vouch for the quality items this restaurant has to offer.

Kava boasts a great spread of buffet with a variety of items ranging from western mains to Chinese delights, their dessert section is def to die for! The taste of the dishes is great but not perfect I’d say. Its also got a great ambience with an expansive dining area. Service is top notch too.

My recent visit to Kava Restaurant at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant has its strengths but also several areas that could use improvement.

The selection of items on the menu was somewhat disappointing. The number of items available did not meet my expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. The starters, in particular, were not up to the mark, lacking the flavor and freshness one would hope for. The biryani was decent, but nothing to write home about.

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the dessert collection. Kava offers a great variety of delicious desserts that are sure to satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth. This is the main attraction of the restaurant, making it a good choice for those looking for a sweet finish to their meal.

On a positive note, the ambiance of Kava is pleasant and comfortable, making it a good spot for brunch or dinner. The service was courteous and prompt, adding to the overall dining experience.

While Kava excels in its dessert offerings, it falls short in other areas, particularly in the variety and quality of its starters and main courses. If you’re a dessert lover, you’ll find a lot to enjoy here. However, for a more well-rounded dining experience, you might want to explore other options.

Head Chef Ankit, a very nice and knowledgeable person and he made sure the food was tasting amazing!
Subhajit, Suraj and israfil were also very helpful and made sure we didn't have any issues faced in the restaurant during our stay! Specially Subhajit and Suraj were extremely helpful and took care of everything in our food requirements!

We had the buffet here and tried Chicken Talumein Soup, Fish Fry, Masala Fish, Grill fish, Mutton Ghosht, Dal makhni, Butter Chicken, Lachha Parantha and Tandoori Roti and I must say each and every item is insanely well made and extremely tasty!

I Absolutely loved their Dal Makhni (Dal Kava) and it was slow cooked overnight just as it's supposed to be and loved the taste!
Then I loved the Masala Fish and Grilled fish.
On the 3rd number I'll rate the Mutton
Then I'll put the chicken!
Chicken was extremely tender and well cooked but it was nothing infront of the fish and dal makhni!

I am not sure why the ratings are so less but this is an extremely good place to have lunch or dinner, a la carte or buffet!

I was wondering why this place is rated so low but after visiting today I found the answer myself.

This place is located inside the Fairfield Marriott on the L1 floor.

I visited for Sunday brunch and it cost ?2000+ and according to me this price does not justify the food at all.

The highlight of this place is their staff.

They are highly dedicated, well mannered, trained, customer friendly, efficient, quick, and anything positive you can say.

The moment I entered KAVA one of their staffs accompanied me to my seat, made me feel comfortable, served water and complimentary drinks and gave a brief idea of the foods to be served in the buffet.

The entire time one of them was always available.

They have a good amount of items in Salad but most of them are tasteless and no one was having those. Whoever was taking those salads no one repeated or finished completely I think, at least what I saw. Though double melon was so so.

They have very very very limited options in starters specially non veg starters. They have only 3 items in non veg starters two chicken item : chicken dry Manchurian and chicken kabab and one fish item : fish fry.

Chicken kabab was not at all good, not tnender at all. Chicken Manchurian was not bad.

Fish fry was tasteless. Coating was not good and inside fish was blunt.

Veg starter had pasta, aloo dish, sabzi fry, corn dish, noodles, and some other items.

Noodles was good but not very tasty. Corn dish and fried veggies were tasteless. Aloo was not made well. Pasta was okaish.

They have limited options in non veg mains also. Two fish items, one chicken item, one mutton dish and chicken biryani.

Chicken biryani was not flavourful. It was normal chicken biryani but definitely something good can be expected from Marriott.

Mutton was the biggest disappointment. I am big time mutton lover but the mutton disappointed me the most. Mutton was not cooked well, not tender, it was hard and the gravy was not soaked inside properly.

Chicken mains was acceptable. I do not have fish so cannot comment on that.

I requested for butter nun and again thanks to their staffs nun was delivered so quickly.

The butter nun was good and soft.

Paneer mains was good.

Soup was good.

They serve some other items also in veg mains but did not try them.

They have 3 live counters : puchka, chaat and continental.

Chaat was good and they served it nice.

Continental was average but better than the mains items.

They have quite a number of items in the dessert section : kala jamun, Mishti Dahi, Balusai, Sandesh, tart, Mouse, cheese cake, many types of pastries and some other items in dessert.

Mishti Dahi was good but not the kala Jamun.

Cheesecake was the worst . Pastries were good . Sandesh was bakwaas . And other dessert items were also not very good. Some were good and some were average.

They had live music today and it made the whole time very pleasant and soothing.

The checkout process was good.

The Sunday brunch cost 2005 with tax but the whole experience and mostly the food do not justify the price.

Had a special buffet on Poila boishakh ( Bengali New Year) the menu was decent, food was tasty , had a good time , staffs were very polite and welcoming only thing in the menu there was no tandoori or grilled items it was all deep fried stuffs.
