It is close to the Lake Market and a narrow flight of stairs leads the way to a cosy dining space. Aesthetically decorated with white wooden chairs and table linen, the place feels comfortable. The menu primarily Bengali. 'Dimer Devil' and 'Fish Fry' are both great choices to start with, both having a nice and thin batter with the filling being meaty. 'Luchi and Kosha Mangsho' are a must-have combination but if you are looking for something less spicy, then go for the 'Railway Mutton Curry'
Date: October 31, 2018 Bill No: KDS/1810/01516 We went there during lunch and this was our 3rd visit to the restaurant in as many months. The restaurant has a very good decor and an interesting entrance with figures of bangaali bhadralok sitting in front of the staircase, It was very interesting and there is even a fountain inside the restaurant. Coming to the food, we had Luchi, Steamed Rice, Vetki Fish Fry,Gol Bhetki Jhal, Pabdar Jhal, Katla Kalia,Cholar Dal and Sona Moong Dal. Each and every item tasted very good but Katla Kalia and Vetki Fish Fry was exceptionally good. The food items were reasonably priced and the staff members were very courteous, We will come back again, for sure. At least Kasturi will have a stiff competition from this new restaurant. I cannot comment which one is better but restaurants like 6 Ballygunge Place need to pull up their socks very soon to stay in the competition.
This restaurant, well furbished, is located at a convenient place (very near to Lake Market), is easily accessible from anywhere in Kolkata. The decor, ambiance of the restaurant is alright, bu the prices appear to be a little high. Also the quality of the food is not up to the mark.
