This place has stuck to its tradition of a good Bengali meal in a classy style. So what if it is a bit hefty on the pocket? Bringing old Kolkata charm to its menu, some of the dishes have been innovated with brilliance. They have an array of preparations in fish such as the bekti gondhoraj, a super success; the first Bengali restaurant in Kolkata to do several innovations in hilsa from the smoked boneless variety to some Bangladeshi flavours. The kosha mangsho with luchi is a great combination and is one of the best in the city. The buffet menu is equally enterprising and has some of the specials such as kancha lanka murgi, traditional dishes such as lau chingri and innovative desserts such as nolen gurer mousse.
Went there with couple of friends who wanted to try the Bengali Non Vegetarian Dishes. The usual mochar chop was good. The famed Bhetki fish wasn’t much appreciated by the friends. Luchi & Cholar dal was average,”. Luchi was little lower in quality. Quantity for cholar dal was too less. Kosha Mangsho too wasn’t to the mark. Don’t know, if we had different requirements or we ordered wrongly. Try at your will.
Four of us dined there. Fried fish and paneer tikka for appetizers. Dum aloo, loochi, banana flowers, bhetki in mustard sauce and rice. All were good but the only memorable dish was the banana flowers. I went there after a gap of 6-7 years, and the place on Elgin Road badly needs a refresh.
good for those who love fine dinings and wanted to try kolkata bengali dishes , the service , ambience both are very good , most try for all.
The foods are really superb in quality and they taste like out of the world. The restaurant looks very classy in appearance.

What better place to try authentic Bengali food then the city of Bengal itself. Kolkata has its fair share of Bengali restaurants but Oh! Calcutta is a name that has become synonymous to Bengali cuisine all across India. The brand has a lovely outpost at Forum Mall, Elgin Road in Kolkata and it is pretty popular by the locals. The reason for its success may lie in its charming classy décor or the food, which is as authentic as it can get.
