The Bridge, at The Park Kolkata, replaced the Atrium Cafe (the most happening coffee shop in the city, back in the 90s) in 2009, as the hotel’s round-the-clock coffee shop. Not as iconic as its predecessor, but The Bridge has been doing fairly well. The brightly lit interiors are smart and comfortable and the menu offers a mix of finger food and global classics. Some of the best-loved dishes from the old Atrium menu, such as the 'Cheese Chilli Toast', 'Grilled Fillet Steak' and 'English Fish and Chips', still feature on the menu. The Italian spread is particularly good. Their signature thyme-infused 'Chicken Broth' that has some Cappaletti (stuffed pasta shaped into ‘little caps’) tossed in, and the 'Fornarina' – egg yolk stuffed ravioli tossed in a delicate basil-infused butter emulsion ( a recipe picked up by the chef in his travel to southern Italy), are good picks. For dessert, you cannot go wrong with the 'Single Estate Madagascar Chocolate Molten Cake'.
