Usha is a restaurant in Ballygunge, Kolkata serving Bengali and Mughlai. Known for Bengali dishes; ideal for family meals and group outings.

Overall, excellent Bengali food at reasonable prices.
Very clean and hygenic.
Warm service.
Highly recommended!

Location:
Behind Vivekananda Park, off Lake Road diagonally opp Oudh 1590.

Ambience:
Large tables, comfortable chairs.
Nice warm lighting.
Clean washbasin with liquid soap and large tissues.
Separate sitting area on the covered balcony overlooking the quiet road.

Service:
Prompt and helpful. Pleasant staff.
Filtered drinking water available.

Ordered:
* Mochar Ghonto: slightly sweetish, had coconut chips, perfectly er spiced, excellent taste.
* Ilish with brinjals and bori: light curry, nice balance of spices, Ilish fish was fresh and of very good quality, loved it.

This place has been in my wishlist for a long time and finally visited last weekend. The ambience war very welcoming and modern, gives a sophisticated feeling as a whole. They mainly serve Bengali cousine and the menu was extremely diversified, a lot to choose from. We had ordered the grand feast and and a small thali. The taste was good but could've been better. The price range was a bit on the higher side, pocket pinch to be considered 350-450 per head for a good lunch. Generally the Bengali dishes are prepared to be served hot, but the plate we got served was like warm and many dishes got cold eventually. The portion was enough for a moderate consumer , but not enough for a foodie person. The chicken and mutton dishes were delicious but felt a bit undercooked to me. Overall experience was good, would definitely give it another visit.

If you are searching for a good bengali quisene then it may be your good choice. We took their thali and it was too good. Atmosphere is also good here. Service is up to the, can be better in terms of time.
Overall it's a very good option for bengali food.

Location:
Easy to find. Usha and Fusion Fantasea are in the same building. If you’re coming via Southern Avenue, take the right turn at the crossing where Dugout is located, go straight, and then take the second right.
Staff:
Courteous and polite.
Food:
I had the Thali (Grand Feast with Katla). In the thali, the portions are quite small — the fish fry and katla pieces are small, and the chicken item is only one piece. Also, in the thali, only a single serving of rice is provided and nothing is repeated.
For à la carte, we ordered Mocha Ghonto, Chingri Malai Curry, and Aloo Bhaja, which were noticeably better than the thali items in terms of taste and satisfaction.
Offers & Discounts:
Zomato and District offers are not applicable on thali or combo orders. Discounts apply only to à la carte items when ordered separately, not along with a thali. This should ideally be clearly mentioned on Zomato/District platforms by the restaurant.
Other:
Heard that buffet is available on weekends — better to confirm before visiting.
Overall:
An okay experience overall. À la carte dishes are a better choice than the thali.

If you’re looking for a place that serves soul-satisfying Bengali food with warm hospitality and a touch of nostalgia, this restaurant is a must-visit. Whether you’re Bengali or just curious to explore the cuisine, you’ll walk away with a full heart and an even fuller stomach..?

food was a bit not upto the mark, but the service and ambience was amazing. had buffet.

I'm so glad I found Usha Bengali Restaurant.
The food is incredibly authentic and delicious. I had the kosha mangsho, which was tender and flavorful, and the mishti doi, which was the perfect sweet treat. The service was also friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!" 4/5 stars

Tried their 299 thali as a main dish and kancha lonka dhonepata chicken tikka as an appetizer. I must say it was so yummy, favourable, soft and literally one of the best starters. Highly recommended. 299 thali's quantity is kind of enough for someone who eats less. Otherwise the taste was good and can be made better. Recommended thali in budget ? Ambience, customer service was good enough too.
