This Kolkata-based chain is truly wow! Take a bite of their very flavourful momos and you will be craving more. They have a huge variety - both vegetarian and non-vegetarian to choose from. You get momos in more than 25 different forms, plus a pretty smashing 'Thukpa'. And worry not, they also have a pretty unusual take on other dishes, wherein they have included momos in sneaky ways, such as ‘Tandoori Momo Burger’ (Moburg) and more. Try the steaming hot, large bowl of ‘Chicken Thukpa’ if you are feeling like eating something hearty. And honestly, ‘Prawn’ and ‘Fish Momos’ (available at select outlets) are absolute steals.
Its a beautiful riverside walk along the Farmington R. Often canoe-ists or tubists are enjoying stream (mostly shallow in summer months, but rocky and rapids in some areas) People use the picnic area.. Baseball field fronts the road. Bicyclists frequent the place.
It probably would've been a good experience had the water level been higher. Guess it hadn't rained in a while, so the water level was low and we ended up having to paddle ourselves at certain points in the river cause we weren't even moving.
I've been tubing down this section of the Farmington River for 30+ years. If the water is running fast, I wouldn't recommend taking young children unless they a good, confident swimmers. For something different on the slow sections, bring a tennis ball.
Found this rec area along 44 that would a great put in for kayaking. This particular day was dreary so no activity. Plenty of parking at least for off season.
Feeling devilish? Well, if you're in Connecticut, why not stop by the Satan's Kingdom State Recreation Area, on Route 44, just outside of New Hartford. I would do it on a hot day, because you'll be traveling on the Farmington River in tubes, kayaks, or canoes. It's quite a refreshing ride and a bus will pick you up at the end of your ride and bring you back to your car. It's great for a lazy, summer afternoon. It is a seasonal enterprise, so plan accordingly. You'll also find some great restaurants all along Route 44, between Hartford and New Hartford. Have fun!
