This isn't where you would go for authentic Chinese food but both China 1 outlets in Andheri and BKC serve some very tasty Chinese dishes. Black, white and grey hues with bright red sofas, bamboo sticks and a water fountain are all part of the decor. The decor in their BKC outlet is different. It's more contemporary and elegant. The space is large and can seat many. The menu is equally big. Plenty of dimsum and cheung fun to choose from. Skip the traditional hot and sour or manchow soups and instead try their signature Singapore chili prawns or then the black pepper chicken.
The restaurant is not where you will find authentic Chinese food but instead you will be served the pan Asian fare that is very tasty although indianised. ‘China 1’ is a memorable place that does its best to impress you with its kitchen skills and elegant ambience. Contemporary and classy the interiors will make for a lovely backdrop if you want to throw a dinner party to impress. Business lunches or a quiet rendezvous can also happen here amongst a calm and serene environment. The tables are designed in a way to encourage both formal and casual seating. You will find the space big enough to host large parties of patrons comfortably. The staff is cordial and very efficient. They are well aware about the menu so ask for their help if you happen to be stuck. Due to its busy location (BandraKurla Complex, Western Suburbs, Mumbai) the restaurant gets lot of customers and is always happily occupied.
The menu of China 1 deals into pan Asian fare so expect to see various dishes from several regions of orient in all their glory. Salads like oriental chicken salad and edamame makes a great start to your meal. In hot soups the chef prepares, vegetable wanton soup, sweetcorn crab meat soup, hot & sour, Asian green with tofu and seafood with coriander thick soup. The dim sums are juicy and succulent and will pair nicely with your mains. Fried turnip cake, aromatic crispy duck, combodian basa, prawn garlic roll, crackling spinach and crispy chicken with Szechuan peppercorn will make delicious starters. For sweets, blueberry cheese cake, Italian tiramisu, chocolate spring roll, oriental mango pudding, chocolate dumpling, hazelnut pastry and ice creams will offer tempting conclusion. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions can be ordered to wash down all those oriental flavours. Although only mildly pricey China 1 makes a great option for a peaceful family dinners or even a classy date. Visit for their superb menu and gorgeous seafood that is done with perfection.
