The striking décor and cosy vibe of this popular Asian gastropub beckon you immediately. The swish bar with vibrant colours and frenetic action is hard to miss. The seating is comfortable – high chairs, snug sofas and bar stools. The food menu here is varied, with Pan Asian comfort food offerings. Expect sushi, dim sums, small plates, curries, rice and noodles. The bar menu runs into several pages and is an exercise in choices. One can’t come to this outlet and not indulge in the famed sushi rolls and nigiri. The tuna with tosazu sauce, with its tangy and smoky flavours, is immensely popular. The pork and Chinese cabbage gyoza is equally a treat. The flavourful and piquant melon salad is bound to entice the vegetarian palate. The Shengjian baos here, are a must try, particularly the duck in hoisin sauce with five spice. The food here is replete with distinct flavours and the ingredients used are of top-notch quality. Round off your meal with a creamy and well-made Japanese cheesecake. Enjoy a relaxed meal here with impeccable service at the hands of well-trained staff.
Nice ambiance, good wine, good service- interesting dishes- overall a good experience- anice place to spend an afternoon experimenting with food
Decent Asian cuisine eatery. Their chicken dum sums and and duck baos were amazing. Not very spacious though. Food is not expensive and the quantity served is also decent.
This is a wonderful place only if you have reserved a table (which they don't on weekends) or you reach early. The decor is very pretty with paper lanterns and its a great place to hang around with your friends and family. They have some awesome cocktails and wine collection and their dimsums are out of this world.Loved their sushi, fish tempura and pok pok chicken n Burmese khao suie!!
One of the few places to serve sushi so a natural choice for us. The ratings encouraged further. Interiors are nice and cosy with lots of space. The exterior location can be quite misleading as it is bang on a very busy main street. You are immediately transported away from the hustle. It seems they also have an al fresco seating, but not sure. The menu offered quite a bit. Japanese - sushi, ramen, bao. Malaysian noodles, thai curry, salads and more. A bit less in terms of options for vegetarians but ok overall. The sushi rolls were decent - not super good. We loved the beet root bao - a must try. Papaya mango salad was ok and so were the dimsums. Drinks menu looked exotic and interesting. But wasn't in the mood to try too exotic - the Japanese/asian varieties can be a bit of a hit or miss. Strange they don't stock Bira. Had a pomegranate and plum cocktail but was bitter and then, didn't really have much/any flavor or pomegranate. Probably below average on drinks for me. The service was prompt and efficient. Quite pricey on the wallet - 4500 for 4
