This cosy and elegant restaurant thrives on a unique concept of a new menu every fortnight and promises a one-of-a-kind experience. The 2 fixed 6-course menus - a global cuisine and an Indian cuisine are on offer, with a Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian option in each. One can choose a seafood or chicken menu from the Non-vegetarian selection. Mughlai, Tuscany Italian, Canary Island, Punjabi, Mewari, Morrocan, Mexican and Kashmiri cuisines have been on offer since inception. I sampled the 'Rustic Agri' community cuisine from Maharashtra, which is fairly uncommon in restaurants. The global cuisine was 'South African With Bunny Chow' to a slow-cooked stew, sounded enticing. My 'Chicken Agri Rassa With Tandalachi Bhakri' was mouth-watering with simple but pronounced flavours. The 'Jawala Sukkat Vade' was equally a treat. Agri-food relies on flavours emanating from slow-cooking. Typically very spicy, the dishes here were well-spiced, but not fiery. The 'Prawn Tomato and Coriander Soup', although tangy, paled in comparison. The 'Nariyal Barfi With Karanji' was spot on and reminiscent of home-style flavours. No alcohol here, so, try the 'Twisted Lassi With Smoked Cinnamon' instead. The staff is courteous, well-informed and helpful.
This place has been on the list since its launch 10 months ago. Have heard very good reviews from friends and even Zomato reviews are really convincing. The concept of set meals is used here however the main USP is they change their menu every 15 days and it is not repeated sooner. The unique and best part is that they don't keep a generic state or cuisine menu. They choose a more local traditional cuisine from any part of the world. Love that every time they have a new menu they keep one Indian Local cuisine too. So when I visited I had Chengdu province from China and Kufri from Himachal Pradesh. Trust me when they choose so micro options they are that strict in making the authentic cuisine. The six course meal starts with soup, appetizers shorbet (amouse bouche) and mains and then desserts. I had following from Kufri Himachal Pradesh : Sidu : A stuffed crispy calzone kind of with amazing stuffing and with superb tamarind chutney. Kulthi Dal ka Shorba : This is Kufri's famous soup. Basically the daal broth with chicken chunks with crisps. Very amazing and well balanced flavours. Chamba style fried Murgh : Wow this was the best ever fried chicken I have recently had. So crisp and flavourful coating with perfect spices. The inside of this had the soft succulent chicken. Totally loved this one. Now to change the palate they offered very well balanced Apple sorbet. For mains they served : Tudkiya Bhaath in Kullad, then Chhaa Murgh, Maash Daal with Raita &Patande (Dosa roti) This beautifully presented main course looked really promising. As soon as I had a bite of Patande a roti dosa style with Chha Murgh I realized how versatile cuisine is this. Perfect spice and the flavours with well marinated chicken just loved it. Tudkiya Bhaath was very well made, the spice level didn't dominate. The Maash Daal was steamed and spiced with green chilli. The portion was really perfect and I had almost done. Very very satisfying meal. For dessert they served Kaddu ka Halwa with Badam ki Barfi. The best end to the 6 course meal had to be really amazing. Not too sweet, had nice flavours of cinnamon nutmeg cardamom etc. The mocktails we tried were average, expecting them to be more innovative with this. Service : We were attended by Surendra and he explained the concept and menu. Loved how he was well aware with the cuisine too. Nishesh who served us was also very courteous and took our feedback on food. Just imagine every single time they served with any dish our cutlery was changed without asking. Their Chef Roger who curates the menu is a gem. Expressed my amusement about the changing menu and how versatile he is with such different cuisine and experiment. Ambiance is a fine dine setup with good capacity of 25-30 inside and a few tables for outdoor. As of now no liquor is served but I think they are working on it to get license approved. Would love to dine again once wine and beer is served. Overall I can say at 749₹ a 6 course meal with this elaborate and unique cuisine is a steal deal. The service again is top notch and will surely make the fine dine experience a memorable one.
It was a family dinner and it sure should be special... half of the family had been to Mondo and loved it... so decided all should visit it and try it out. Reservations are must and we did so. It's a fine dine and cozy place. The menu's are set menu. We went there on Friday and our options were Mexican / Kashmiri. We were 6 of us... one of them had Mexican chicken, 2 of them decided Mexican Seafood, one opted for Kasmiri veg & the rest two of us opted for Kashmiri non veg ( well... I tasted the Mexican food from their plate & happily shared mine). The portions are small but filling. The food is yummyyyyy and presentation gets additional brownie points. It's a six course meal with small portions. The menu are available on their web site... and the pics are attached here. I am more biased to Indian food... so for me Kashmiri was the best choice and the rest who had Mexican ... said Mexican is better... taste is subjective... but then I highly recommend this restaurant. We also had mocktails... orange chilli, Sagar's fluke & some root infused drink.. loved all. Unfortunately I can only upload 10 pics.
Mondo a placed located in dahisar kandarpada near highway.Though the place is small but it is decorated and the sitting is arranged very nicely.The walls are decorated very nicely.This outlet has a new concept.They keep on changing the menu every week.This week was Styria,Austria menu and Amritsar,Punjabi menu.Both the menus had limited items and the dishes were named different and had a different taste. The mocktails were- 1.Sagar's fluke-This had a mixture of sugarcane, kaffirlime and mint.They burn the mint leaves and then dip in the mocktail and it had chilli powder on the outer side of the glass to give every sip a spicy taste. 2.Herbs and spices charcoal mojito-This concept was really innovative.It had organic spices and dry ice in a glass and they added the charcoal juice to the glass full of spices.It was really tempting. Styria,Austria menu- 1.Tirol phyllo pastry-This was a roll of vegetables served with cheese sauce and decorated with tomato and coriander. 2.Fleischlaberl soup-It was like clear soup with chopped vegetables and dumplings. 3.styrain cordon bleu-This was full of cheese served eith cheese sauce. 4.Sorbet-The sorbet was ice flavoured with peach apricot flavour.This was best to taste. 5.Veg A'la king with Gherkin potato and bread roll-It had potato topped on one another and swiss style bread roll and cheese with vegetables like a soup. 6.Apple strudel with vanilla sauce-This was apple pie with vanilla sauce.I didnt like the taste much. Amritsar,Punjabi menu 1.Chowk ki tikki-It was green in color.It was decorated with spots of tomato ketchup on the whole plate. 2.Lasooni shorbha-This was like tadka dal.It was served in matki and was yummy. 3.Beet Galouti-This was beet tikki.It was awesome in taste.It was served with green and red chutney. 4.This had a single plate with chole bhatura,dal jalfrezi and jeera rice-Ot was the best in taste in all the menu.The dal jalfrezi was amazing. 5.Baked gulab jamun-It was served with pistachois and decorated with chocolate syrup.It was really amazing and tasty. Overall i liked the punjabi menu more as compared to austria menu.It was a good experience.
It was a family lunch and we wanted to try something new . Mondo fine dine is perfect for people like to experiment. The food is awesome, service is very fast and portion are sufficient for one in fact it can be shared with kids . You will get the authentic taste. It’s bit expensive but worth visiting .
Got to know about this place from a friend of mine .. and made a decision to visit this place ... And how I loved this place .. the concept is very different.. they serve a 6 course meal and change the menu every 12 to 15 days ... I loved this place cus of its so classy and lavish . Do visit guys !
