About Out of the Blue, Khar, Western Suburbs
The breezy open setting is a luxury in a city like Mumbai, which is a dense cosmopolitan concrete jungle thriving on fumes. Restaurants try their best to create a calm oasis sort backyards to entice their patrons but not many are successful. However, we know couple of great eateries where you can relax and soak in the lovely breezy weather of Mumbai unhindered by walls. One of our longtime favorites is ‘Out of the Blue’, a charming airy eatery saturated in cool atmosphere during the day and a fun laid-back lounge as the evening comes. The restaurant projects a casual pleasing image through it’s al fresco setting often crazy spilling during the weekends. Out of the Blue is a huge family favorite. It’s located at Le Sutra Hotel, 14 Union Park, Off Carter Road, Khar West, Khar, Mumbai.
Out of the Blue is frequented by brunch seekers who want nothing more than to start their day lazily with a light meal served in a charming setting. As the eatery opens its doors around 7 am, it’s a regular haunt for breakfast. The vibe amps up with the evening. An eclectic elegant menu further accentuates it’s charms. Menu is extensive enough to spoil you for choices. Out of the Blue was one of the first places in Mumbai to popularize fondue. Sip your aperitif while enjoying the appetizers. Follow them with a lavish spread of mains such as, chicken cooked under a brick, stuffed mushroom in BBQ sauce, confit duck leg, iron skillet 5 cheese mac, spinach potato mascarpone ravioli, pulled pork burger, 7 hour braised lamb shanks, leek & asparagus crepe and grilled tiger prawns.
Opt for a caffe mochaccino to marry your dessert course. The chef tempts your sweet tooth with, vanilla pannacotta, apple crumble, crème brulee, flourless chocolate fudge, chocolate fondant and Kahlua & Baileys mousse. Live music, board games, live sports screening and other live entertainment uplifts your evening. It’s best you reserve a table with EazyDiner before dropping in. The place is always close to spilling. There are few options on the menu for vegans. There may be a lot to draw you towards Out of the Blue but a dreamy al fresco setting tops the list. There is a nice indoor seating area available as well but our vote lies with the restaurant’s canopied, light-strung outdoor area. Soft blue chairs set against potted palm trees justifies the theme.
