If their purpose is to be memorable then they have surely achieved it. ‘The Barking Deer’ brewpub is one such memorable entity that sticks to one’s mind for its delicious house beers and even more authentic interiors. This pub is the city’s first fully functional brewery that has produced excellent and delicious beers as the result. TBD has started off the trend of micro brewing copied by its fellow competitors. Décor has been kept true to the rustic appearance of a working brewery complete with the containers and brewing tanks. The entire room is done in warm earthy wooden tones that is appealing to the patrons. The pub is split into two levels to house large parties of people coming in to taste their product. A deep wooden top bar flanks the pub overlooking the brewing tanks adding to the experience of drinking and savouring the beer.
The Barking Deer brews sensational beers that have quickly become an immense favourite of the regulars. The varieties like flying pig Belgian wit, Bombay blonde, bark IPA, honey bee braggot, fallen angel chocolate stout are stated under the house brews. They even offer half pint to taste which beer suits your palette so you can order yourself a full pint size. The beer based concoctions are given quirky names to attract the customers such as, the graveyard, car bomb, beertini, Bombay, sangria, coronita and shot & a pint. Pints from around the globe are also stocked here for customers with certain palette. Cocktails, mocktails and hard liquors make an impressive addition to the already wonderful bar menu. The bartender mixes classic cocktails naming bounty hunter, vodka gola, long island iced tea, margarita, martini, brandy tody, watermelon slush, lemon grass cooler, caprioska, cosmopolitan, mojito, green apple & basil and daiquiri with a flair.
Shock your system with a heavy dose of smooth mature whisky, cool vodka, warm rum and sharp tasting gin. Fill your glass of wine with your favourite wine yard label and sip the night away. All that lovely beer needs some munchers to marry them such as, meat balls, beef sliders, butter garlic drunken prawns, bacon wrapped chicken, fish tikka, chicken skewers and steak. Desserts are also a must have at TBD. You will be spoilt for choices on sweet front. Mildly pricey and very unique the pub is worth putting on your bucket list.
