This restaurant transports you back in time as the décor and seating are quite basic and outdated. The menu offers a plethora of North Indian and Mughlai dishes with abundant non-vegetarian and vegetarian options. There is a separate bar menu too. From a 'Paneer Tikka' to a 'Chicken Kesari Methi Kabab' and 'Fish Kalimiri', one can opt from an array of tandoori items, which this place is known for. While the kababs, are well-marinated and of a good quality, the portion sizes are quite measly, given the pricing. For mains, one must try the 'Chicken Saagwala' and 'Mutton Rarra'. Well-spiced, both these are flavourful, but rich and heavy as well. The food is fairly mediocre in flavours and typical restaurant fare, overpowered with spices. The dessert section is quite unimaginative – the usual 'Kulfi' and 'Gulab Jamun' are on offer. The service staff is inattentive and laidback. The food here is a tad overpriced. This is a perfect place for family dining.
This is one of the best restaurants in town and I would personally recommend this to each and everyone
Same old great authentic punjabi mouth watering finger licking food. Must visit if you love Punjabi food. Veg or Non Veg.
This place was a recommendation by our Taxi driver while we went shopping at Linking Road, Bandra. We were not disappointed as all our dishes were upto our expectations. We tried soups, appetizers and main course. Sarson ka Saag with makke di roti was the best. The service was prompt. We liked its cleanliness, including the restroom. Ambience was ok. The attendant took care of Taxi cab arrival when we left the premises
We were a famished group of 7 who were looking for a good place to have some North Indian cuisine after a frenetic shopping morning; which is why we opted to try this place out. While the welcome was warm, it was quite unnerving to realize that we were the only customers at that point of time. Considering that this place is located next to Shoppers Stop which is a stone's throw away from the junction where SV Road and Linking Road meet, the empty seats during lunch hours did nothing to assuage our fears. Nonetheless we decided to go ahead and order. The drinks that we ordered were all non - alcoholic and all were too sweet to be had. The food was tasty which is the only saving grace. The service though courteous was sloppy. The waiters dropped two dishes while serving; one spilling on the table and the other on one of us. Considering everything, I would not like to recommend this place at all.
The Great Punjab – an authentic north Indian and mughlai cuisine restaurant located on Linking Road, Bandra. Just as the name suggest, the restaurant specialised in north Indian food, especially Punjabi food. The moment you enter the restaurant, you will realise that restaurant is not that big, with small tables of 4 people on one side and large tables on other side, with a maximum capacity of 50 people. It does seem cramped up for space. The ambience is really nice, with good music going on in the background. The restaurant seems really clean and tidy with the staff also dressed up properly and very courteous. Since the restaurant specialises in North Indian food, we decided to try the Chicken Tandoori and the Chicken Achari in starters. The tandoori was really amazing, with the size of the Chicken pieces quite big and it was cooked to perfection, as I was able to taste the flavours till the last bite. The Chicken achari was a bit rubbery, but was tasty. It was slightly undercooked, otherwise would have been an amazing dish. In the mains, we decided to go for the Butter Chicken and Butter Naan. This place serves the best butter chicken that I have had till date. The dish was super tasty with perfect amount of spiciness and sweetness in the dish. The Chicken was soft and juicy, really adding to the flavours of the dish. A must try for all the Butter Chicken lovers. In the end we ordered the Boneless Chicken Biryani. The dish was also tasty and since it was cooked in the traditional handi, the flavours had seeped in it and it smelled really amazing. The only negative of this place is that the quantity of the dishes is very less whereas the prices of the dishes is quite high. They really need to work on that. That is the reason for giving a rating of 3.5/5. Note: 1) Cost for 2 people - ₹1800 - ₹2000. 2) The place offers valet parking service, which is a necessity considering the location of the restaurant.
