After living in a gastronomically rich city like Mumbai, we have learned to trust the voice of an expert. Slumming with those casual laid-back eateries is fine sometimes, once in a while we should simply go all out by splurging on the places food snobs bank upon. One name instantly pops in mind when talking about refined long-standing favorites i.e., ‘The Tasting Room’. From the genius mind of Riyaz Amlani who is responsible for hits like Salt Water Café, Smoke House Deli and the Social chain of bars, The Tasting Room is another excellent venture, albeit an earlier one. This gorgeous fine dining restaurant is a wonderful place to wine and dine someone special. Its prime location at Good Earth in Raghuvanshi Mills Compound in Lower Parel is a sought after one.

A wine connoisseur will have an indulgent time browsing through their wine library. The Tasting Room has an extensive one. It complements beautifully with their European spread for which they are so well known. Those who don’t feel like drinking can opt for their revitalizing coolers. Gulab chia seed cooler or spiced guava one are an excellent palate cleansers. Order a meat plate or cheese plate to share amongst your group. Otherwise look forward to appetizers like, stuffed brioche, corn & vegetable cigars, BBQ 4 hour cooked pork ribs, beer batter sea prawn, crostini platter, baked goat cheese xangles and chicken skewers. Enjoy the main course of, seared duck breast, roasted pepper asparagus stuffed ravioli, smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwich, charred pork belly, three cheese sandwich, Asian inspired lamb ragu, potato & ragi gnnochi and so much more.

Kids get their own separate menu, a fact we adore. Indulge your sweet tooth with an assortment of sinful comforting desserts. Choose between, warm cheese cake, chocolate excess, tiramisu, carrot cake, gooey caramel & chocolate tart and deconstructed gainduja chocolate mousse. Everything about The Tasting Room screams attention. Great interest is taken in creating every aspect of this striking restaurant. The décor alone arrests your attention immediately through brightly painted walls in different colors in various sections of this sprawling restaurant. Dining room flows into several spacious nooks so diners have a private corner all to themselves. Low hung chandeliers, stylish designer furniture and an affluent sophisticated vibe sums up The Tasting Room for you. One might assume this place to be expensive but its only marginally so.
