The high atrium ceiling with natural light filtering into this all-day dining restaurant adds a unique charm to the already chic ambience. Tiqri, denotes a glass wall art, which is aesthetically depicted in the form of a striking wall décor inside the restaurant. A certain joie de vivre pervades this place. The menu offers dishes across cuisines and an equally elaborate drinks section. Whether it is a quick breakfast, a leisurely lunch or an evening snack, it is the first choice of many. The breakfast, lunch and weekend dinner buffet spread, as well as the Sunday brunch, is diverse, but not too lavish. The location has a lot to do with its popularity. Affordably priced, Tiqri attracts a lot of first-timers, keen on experiencing the Taj hospitality. Affable and warm service even when the restaurant is busy. 'Vietnamese style Rice Rolls', 'Panini Verdure', 'Caribbean Jerk Chicken', 'Kombdi Wade' are popular dishes from the á la carte menu.
The breakfast spread is very nice with hot idles, wada, upma and a live counter for dosas. The multi grain dosa was exceptionally good. There were several healthy options also. The only reason I didn’t give this a five star rating was I would have like to see a much larger fruit selection, which was quite sparse everyday. There are so many fruit vendors all over mumbai selling such luscious fruits so it shouldn’t be too hard to source. But I will be returning and hope this improves for me to rate it five stars. Also even though we stayed in the hotel for 14 days, we had to keep giving them our room number everytime we entered the restaurant. I would have liked it if they could remember it, as this is the kind of service that Taj demands of its staff. Apart from this, food was very good, waiters were prompt.
The buffet lunch was a decent affair. Pros: The soup and the starters were great. The Christmas decoration was beautiful as well. Cons: Main course was too many Indian dishes for a 5 star. Deserts were simply poor and not at all as per Taj standards. Service: Standard of service was certainly good. A special mention for Lawson, Sheldon and Reuben. Overall experience: Totally avearage and the additional star rating is just for the service.
Would like to appreciate the courtesy shown by Niharika, Manager and Ruben the Supervisor in welcoming us and making it a nice evening to remember. Not many fine dining restaurants in Mumbai can claim that sort of elegance as provided by a Taj Hotel restaurant. Although it’s not easy to afford for many, it’s an experience that must be savored at least once in life. Dining at Taj is a memorable experience. Quality is top notch and service is flawless. Taj Santacruz, Off Western Express Highway in Santacruz East boasts of some of the best dining rooms in Mumbai. One particular place, ‘Tiqri’ is the hotel’s all-day dining venture and is the loveliest 24X7 restaurant in Mumbai. Grandeur of Tiqri attracts many diners, especially those who want to set a statement or want to razzle-dazzle someone with all that glamour. Any Taj restaurant’s menu is always accompanied by their gourmet tea/coffee selection that one definitely must take an advantage of. Tiqri is no different. Choose a delightful tea or coffee blend to marry your dessert. Tiqri tempts your palate with an array of sweets like, tiramisu, saffron soya pannacotta, banoffee pie, tres leches, kulfi, baked cheese cake, cinnamon crème brulee and nolen gur mousse. During the day, Tiqri is flooded with sunlight due to its high atrium like structure, but as the night falls, it transforms into a hip elegant lounge washed with multi-colored lights. The high ceiling gives the illusion of space and a beautiful tree wall art draws your attention to the focal wall. Take up the sofa, it’s much more comfortable. Tiqri is pricey as expected.
