A luxurious setting and a spread handpicked by an Italian chef. The pizzas are (obviously?) the first port of call. The wood-fired base is crisp and perfectly sets off the light mozzarella and tomato sauce base with lovely toppings. Sample the simple margherita with just basil or a quattro formaggi with provolone, gorgonzola, parmesan and fontina. The one with Chilean sea bass, beetroot and crab raviolo might be the most expensive, but makes for a fine indulgence. The pastas pretty much inspire several rounds of finger kissing (the lamb agnolotti with green asparagus and mushroom or spaghetti with pesto and potato, please), and the mains span duck breast in balsamic, pork belly in a bay leaf reduction, pork chops in a chorizo sauce with artichokes, Milanese-style crumbed chicken, and lamb shank with gremolata and saffron risotto. Sides of carrots with roasted garlic and herbs, or one with steamed string beans are fresh and healthy.
Being in Pune for Diwali with son, saughter-in-law & Grand-son; desired to have dinner at this Italian restaurant. We booked table through dine-out app and were promptly seated by the young pleasing team at the restaurant. We had vegetarian minestrone soup, followed by Vegetarian Spinach Pizza & Veg.Lasagnia. The food has been hot and delicious and quantity had been sufficient for four of us, with freshly baked breads having liberally been served. For dessert we were advised Tiramassu & Chocklate bomb. Very tasty ending indeed. For four of us it cost us Rs.4250/- a modest bill for a fine dining experience. All the team were attentive and friendly. Particularly the pleasing NE Naga-steward has taken personal care in helping us making choice of vegetarian items. While going back, we had just peeped into Shakhahari restaurant and were pleasantly treated with Pans for four of us. An excellent experience at the Restaurant in JW Marriott. We went with friends for dinner on a special occasion -his birthday. Chef Christian Huber had organised a 5 course Italian meal and it was outstanding. The restaurant is on the first floor of JW Mariott Hotel in Pune. The restaurant was dimly lit, like most fine dining restaurants, though I would have liked to have my food better lit. The service was attentive, helpful and courteous. The chef and his supporting staff did an amazing job to make a magical experience.
Fine Italian style - good and friendly service. Menu on tablet with photos - interested about the sizes of the portions - larger that you thought. Great atmosphere.
Incredibly forgettable...am trying to find words to describe how random the food was...way too expensive, loads of cheaper al fresco restaurants in Pune to experience Italian cuisine - even if never better than average
Alto Vino is a treat, definitely the best Italian restaurant in Pune. I'ts a really wonderful place for overseas guests who are surprised by the authenticity of the food. Good music too.
