A comfortable sit-down ambience is brought to life with subtle Mandarin flare in the décor of this chain’s restaurants. Armed with a pair of chopsticks, the dim sums are a natural first port of call, especially the prawn siu mai or fried wontons, with a trifecta of delicious condiments. A steaming hot bowl of peppery lemon soup could follow, before delving into pepper salt jumbo prawns, Keong’s chicken with green chilli and spring onion, konjee crispy lamb or crackling spinach (they do this so well). If you plan to splurge, the lobster comes in a choice of four lovely sauces, as does the freshwater bekti. Old-time regulars may point you towards General Tao’s favourite chicken and the corn and potato tsing hoi style. You can never really go wrong with their Fukien crabmeat fried rice or Singapore rice noodles with mains – and, do not forget to finish off with the classic fave of a hot, sweet-soft date pancake in a flaky pastry, topped with cool vanilla ice cream.
Excellent food excellent drinks and an excellent staff who attended to us and adjusted /had got made drinks and desserts to our taste!
We went early on Saturday evening for a dinner. Although the restaurant was not full it was very warm. We asked if they had put on the air conditioning and we were informed that the air conditioning was working fine and that it was because there were too many people in the restaurant, it was not effective. The service was extremely slow. Our dinner stretched over two and half hours due to slow service. Food was average. Crackling spinach was good but lemon coriander soup was lacking in taste and serving temperature. I would not be going to this restaurant very soon again.
I visited MainLand China restaurant for a quick lunch during my visit to Pune over a weekend. The restaurant is located opposite the main entrance of JW Marriott Hotel on the SB Road, Pune. I did not notice any Valet Parking facility at the restaurant. The Vietnamese Noddle soup was very tasteful. The portion size for all food items is adequate. The sizzling brownie ordered was fantastic. Overall a very good experience.
We were pleasantly surprised with the grand food quality here last night We enjoyed Juice Punch Hot Guava Punch Crispy Lotus Stem Thai Veg Dumpling Crabmeat Soup Prawns Soup Exotic Thai Veg Seafood Rice Pan fry noodles Coconut Dumpling Palm Jaggery ice cream Mango ice cream Definite worth more visits Two things 1- the table mats need a change for they are torn apart and very very old 2- serving guys fumble unnecessarily Thanks
I visited with my colleagues for dinner. I found food , ambiance and service all at average level while price are too high for dishes just based on brand name. Outside restaurant entrance is also very bad , there is improvement required in this one specifically because seen other chain restaurants and never faced issues.
Love for Chinese food has long ago invaded our country. Armed with their hot and sour dishes and warm aromatics the Chinese immigrants spread their love for their cuisine into our hearts and introduced to us the hidden delights of this wonderful cuisine. In Pune city where demand for quick and delicious food is a lot this particular cuisine has done wonders in establishing a name for itself. The most common and well-known restaurant to deliver this fab cuisine in an authentic package is ‘Mainland China’. The restaurant is located at ICC Tech Park, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune and is one of the most sought after places to dine in this particular vicinity. The comfortable and attractive interiors of the restaurant is one more reason for its huge popularity. A row of terracotta warriors flanking the spacious room with a dragon imprint lamp casting a cheerful glow about the room adds to the originality of the décor.
The staff is very well trained and is attuned to your needs at all times. You will be attended immediately with utmost respect. The food at Mainland China is excellent and visually appealing too. They take great care with the appearance of the dish and once you taste their oriental magic, you will be spoiled for any other Chinese restaurant. The menu of Mainland China is not very extensive. You will find plenty of options with some classic bestsellers that does well in every other Chinese menu. There are fantastic appetizers range that you can dig into especially, hunan prawns, roast duck in chilli plum sauce, wok tossed potatoes yue yang style, prawns hubei style, konjee crispy lamb, all-time favourite crispy spinach, yue yang spicy barbequed fish, chicken Taipei, grilled tofu hunan style, crispy corn chilli pepper and wok tossed lamb with garlic & blackbean.
The main course is as attractive as the appetizer section with an array of delicious choices such as, spicy fish in a hot pot, roast lamb in a sauce of your choice, chicken with celery & wine, sweet and sour vegetables with crispy noodles, exotic vegetables in maoshi sauce, spicy duck in a hot pot and lobster in a sauce of your choice. You will find the final and sweet course an indulgence with steamed coconut dumplings and honey noodles with almond flakes. Mainland China is a bit pricey place but has originality and spades of oriental magic.
