The concept of enormous buffets with a multitude of options is trite – unless, of course, it offers something that distinguishes it from the crowd. Buzz, the 24-hour coffee shop at Taj’s Gateway manages to do a pretty decent job of standing apart, especially where ‘live counters’ are concerned. From Malabar curries and parathas instead of the regular idlis and dosas, an exclusive ‘chutneys’ section, to a variety of fresh juices and shakes you can prepare yourself, the establishment has taken commendable efforts to be different. You can also go for one of their three-course set platters, of which one focuses on kababs as the star dish, the other on curries, and there is a third Italian meal as well. Live singing adds merriment to the proceedings.
Had breakfast here using a Nearbuy coupon. For 450 AI I think its good. Although for a hotel like Gateway I expected much more. It was not a complete breakfast. They had everything but half hearted. The MYO Salad counter was there but no choice. The quality was good but on the selection from there was much to be desired.
Service was not up to mark. All veg starters were deep fried and horrible in taste. Looks like they had been fried multiple times before serving. Main course was Ok but nothing special to talk about. Pizza/pasta was good and enjoyed by my kid. Desserts were good but have seen better desserts at other buffet places. Overall an unsatisfactory experience.
One of the finest buffet when it comes to breakfast. The live counter was awesome with a variety of servings. Kaviraj served me with all the delicacies that the place would offer. Great service and fine experience overall.
Went for the dinner buffet. The food spread was good. The Staffs were really courteous and ready to please. I did not like the street food. The Bhaji tasted like Aloo Sabji and puri of Pani Puri was made from ready-made market available chips. They should make or insource good quality Puri. I don't know it is just me but somehow I am not very happy with Star hotel buffet taste and variety. I would rather prefer a place who understand their Indian customers.
Overall good food and decent food choice. Decent place to spend quality time with your family and friends. I felt they are bit understaffed as the staff tends to get confused when the restaurant is running up to full capacity
