This restaurant has an enormous place with a lovely outdoor seating. The furniture is quirky and vibrant with fabric covered cushions and translucent curtains. Firstly, the scotch that goes with the Hyderabadi Ghost and plain roti is the Johnnie Walker Black Label. The spicy red meat is washed down by the smooth scotch. The mutton is cooked until perfectly tender and falls off the bones. The spices are strong yet pleasurable.
Relaxed place, yummy food, courteous staff, what else to look for in a restaurant in such a calm lane 4. Being in KP anyways has its own advantage but lane 4 is my personal favorite. I've been to this place multiple times. Pomfret fish curry and tandoori pomfret fist are too yummy.
This was the first time I visited this place for dinner with friends Food Quality - The food was tasty and no complaints about it. 1. Service Standards - We ordered 1 chicken and 1 Veg dish The steward when asked at the time of serving as to what he was serving first Vegererian / Chicken, he looked dazed and clueless. We asked him again and he sounded confused about the dish he was holding to serve. He was eventually told to cross check the dishes at the side station and serve them accordingly. 2. Ambience The restaurant has a lively open air ambience and we were there at the time the IPL 2013 was in full swing. Wonderful to watch it on the big sceeen amidst the natural environment. Overall a neat place, only the service standards need to be looked in to and everything will be fine. Will visit again if the above is taken care off.
I visited Shatranj on 31-Mar-17. My friends and I often choose this place for the quiet ambience and good food it offers. After their renovation, this was my first visit. I am quite impressed with the new look of the place !! We were 6 guys and we were checked-in to a spacious, comfy gazedo / booth. We stayed with our usual order of beer, soft drinks, chicken and veg starters and mutton and veg main course. Needless to say, the food was the usual great taste and sufficient portions. The service was also quite prompt. Keep up the good work Shatranj !! I am looking forward to many more evenings with my friends and you !! Regards, Aditya
Shatranj Wine and Dine is a family bar and restaurant with open air seating. The ambience is pleasing to the eye - large open spaces and green plants around the tables. Alas, i can't say the same about the food.
(1) Location: Its located at Lane 4, Koregaon Park, Pune. (2) Ambience: They have a pretty big ambience. However, they need to work a bit on the chairs & tables. The furniture looks old & they should even use clean table clothes. As they have an open ambience, this place is good for large group of visitors. Mainly larger group of families or working professionals visit this place. (3) Quality Of Food: The quality of food is average. (4) Taste: The taste of food is average. The dishes are not too tasty. Also, they should prepare tandoor dishes with care. Whenever I have visited this place, the tandoor dishes were always hard most of the times. (5) Average Food Arrival Time: You can get your food with in 30-40 minutes. But, on weekends; the waiting time increases. (6) Drinks: They serve almost all type of drinks & the prices are also affordable. (7) Cost: I found the prices nominal. (8) Behaviour/Etiquettes of Staff Members: The staff is well mannered. My Overall experience with this restaurant is good. Dear Foodies - If you liked my review, please Comment/Give it a like/Follow me. Happy Eating :)
