Spice Kitchen is one of the finest restaurants housed under the uber-popular Star hotel, you will certainly be greeted with a lot of warmth and the interiors even, will speak for itself. The warm colours of beige, wooden and some greens are really pleasant and fresh. If you have been looking for a plush Sunday Brunch experience, this is surely the one at a not so expensive price point. It is quite an affordable one because it is priced at Rs. 2000 plus taxes for limitless food and alcohol and that is why it is one great deal. The choice, however, is limited but not too limited that you get bored with what is available to eat. Live Pasta and Pizza counter, over 6 varieties of Chaat, over 12 salads, about 15 mains in both categories and the dessert table looks decked up with over 20 different options. The all-day menu also offers breakfast, lunch and dinner service starting at the crack of dawn until the midnight hour. Now, that is a little more than ideal brunch if you are not prepared to eat. So, make sure you have a great appetite for this or maybe nullify that money you pay in drinks? If that is not the case then A La Carte is meant for you. The A La Carte menu is where the premium feel of the service is experienced. The menu is mainly a large bunch of Classic dishes that are uplifted using premium cutlery and crockery along with edible flowers and some nice looking plates. We tried the ‘Grilled Lamb Chops’, they source the lamb from New Zealand and the thyme jus with the lamb is quite promising. Great to see the restaurant and chefs stick to what is good and they avoid what is not necessary. If you don't like to eat as much, you can even get the light and easy Rolls, Sandwiches and some Burgers, but the quantities are large. The ‘Roast Chicken Parmesan Sub’ is really nice and is served with Garlic Butter, Fries on a French Baguette. The desserts are pretty decent as well although there is nothing very fancy to look up to. A decadent ‘Soft Centred Chocolate Cake’ can be a nice idea or a ‘Warm Apple Pie’ does the trick!
