With its friendly, cool-hued confines reminiscent of a posh beach-front somewhere in South Europe, this restaurant doles out quirky fine dine, and how. For starters, the breakfast section is studded with the likes of pearl couscous and quinoa upma with cranberry and house-made fruit compote, a chocolate, nuts and seeds granola parfait, and an akuri with oats and nuts bread. Coupled with their classic sweet lime mint or Japanese ginger and pear martinis, the meal just sings of Sunday brunch. If in the mood for a salad, try one with roasted beets, goat’s cheese, orange segments and balsamic; for something slightly heavier, the hummus, grilled aubergine, cilantro and sour cream gyros are flavour-packed. The pao and bao section has a succulent pulled pork bao with spicy kimchi and veggie soy cutlet pao, both of which are mini-meals. Among small plates, the Indopean street pani puri with feta salsa, chilly yogurt and tamarind cumin is full of layers for the seasoned palate; entrées include an eclectic selection of kosha mangsho with brown onion rice pilaf and Japanese ginger rubbed basa with crushed potatoes and vegetables. We also absolutely must mention the skewers of sundried tomato and chipotle rubbed grilled prawns with watermelon chunks. Do finish with the wondrous salted caramel panna cotta.
