Located on the ground floor, on Prahladnagar Road, an upcoming business street, this restaurant is done up in traditional style. Annkut has rustic walls and lots of wood pillars on the walls and beams on the ceiling. The table and chairs are also wooden. The walls are decorated with wooden framed mirrors and wooden window panes and such other wooden frames. The food is served in bell metal utensils which were used traditionally in Indian homes. Food served in Kansa metal utensils or Bell metal utensils is said to be good for the health. Here the plates, small bowls, spoons and even the glass is made of Kansa metal. The thali is a bit more pricey than most places but they also do it in style. You start with an appetizer and then the stewards start serving food and filling up the thali real fast. So, you get 4 vegetable preparations, 2 snacks, 2 sweets, papad, puris, rotis, Dal or Khadi, whatever you like to have, and of course, rice. You can have unlimited amounts of food but it is all heavy. You also have lots of side dishes - 'Pickle', 'Green and Red Chutney', 'Salad', 'Besan Sev' and some fried snacks to go with the meal. To top all, there is 'Masala Chaas' as well.
We went here after my Son's munday ceremony. The service is good and quick. And ambience is nice as well. The food was good, a bit on the spicier side which we didnt mind but few others in our groups couldnt take it. The average thali price is a bit higher than other places, but then I guess you pay for the ambience etc. Negative- They dont have any high chairs.
I visited this place with colleagues. The dishes were various and delicious. But I missed undhiu. It's winter and it was not on the menu.
Moderately priced,Good food.khichu was good. Though the presence of fruit custard as fruit salad didn't fit into the authenticity. Hand wash in a traditional Lota on the table & simple paan was something different from other similar kind of restaurants
Ambience, seating, parking, cleanliness all is top class. Even price is not exorbitant..than what is an issue...thats FOOD..for which u have gone there...i found taste very average..nothing special bout a Single Item for which i felt WOW. Basic average Taste which may be availble in many other places. Only Marks for presentation..but for that any good 3 star n above restaurant ll do. I have had better taste of Gujju Thali elsewhere than this.
Went for a lunch. Started with lemon phudina drink which was nice, cool on a warm day. Fulka roti, daal, kadhi was awesome. Fruit salad was yummy. Only thing i did not like was the vaghareli chaas..however my wife loved it. will certainly recommend and visit again.
